Coogee Bay Hotel shouldn’t be called that as it’s really a pub with dirtiest rooms above it. Don’t be fooled by the website and pretty pictures; the reality is polar opposite. I stayed with my colleagues at the hotel for 2 nights (the worst 2 nights) and only because we couldn’t find accommodation elsewhere we stayed for the second night.... more

We went to the Coogee Bay Hotel for a weekend getaway. Reception staff are nice enough but that's where the hospitality ends. We couldn't for the life of us find where we had to go to get to our room. Which we found out was above the old part of the hotel. After wandering around for about half an hour... more

Great location, right on the beach, lovely view and fabulous room, very comfortable, nice romantic get-away. The week after we moved on to the next beach it was all over the press that a disgruntled ex staff member had mixed human excrement in with a chocolate pudding !!! YUK So great hotel, a little noisy at night ( as is... more

This is not all it is made out to be on their site, and as for awards, the persons who awarded them must have been blind. The hotel is divided into two buildings, one in front, called the Heritage part, whch overlooks the sea on the other side of the road, and is very noisy because all the bars and the... more

This hotel is way too expensive for what it is. The hotel calls itself "boutique", but the rooms are decorated and furnished pretty much like any other chain hotel (and to my mind rather tastelessly), although admittedly they are relatively recently refurbished. The views from the rooms are generally poor. I had a view out of the back of the... more

Just returned from 3 night stay at Coogee Bay Hotel. Had a very nice stay. Room was nice, hotel was clean, and the staff was very nice. Location was very good. Enjoyed the walk from Coogee to Bondi with beautiful views and beaches. The hotel is quiet, yet the lower area in front has fun nightlife with several bars, including... more

Booked through Need to Escape. Lovely place to stay. Nice clean and spacious rooms. Friendly staff who will help with any query. Would recommend. Only down would be the beeping of the forklift that stocks the coogee bay bottle barn next door. Would probably only be heard from the Ocen view rooms. That would only be a very minor down... more

This hotel was clean and comfortable in a great location but in my opinion was overpriced. Look around at some of the other deals available in Coogee, seemed that friends staying in the area at the same time got nicer hotels for much cheaper prices. more

We stayed at the Coogee in March, 2005. The room was clean and met our needs, but seemed a lot like an American Holiday Inn despite the semi-Art Deco motif. The location is a block from the beach and half a block from the main street. The staff is courteous and helpful. But for the price I think we may... more
