Our first impression of this hotel was the warm welcome and friendly reception that was shown to us. As for the hotel we found it to be clean andwere impressed by its charming atmosphere with an abundance of stained glass windows and wall paintings and what I can only refer to as "old world charm". Some other "small" things worthy... More

Arriving in the middle of a downpour we were greeted by the sight of this beautiful victorian style Hotel. Immediately felt at home by "Oscar" a maltese terrier. the entrance and charm of the premises was immediate and we entered our room 'The Matthew Flinders' which had two balconies, one facing the street and a small dining nook overlooking the... I recently stayed at the Charrington Hotel when i was in sydney last month. my wife really liked the old Victorian decore and leadlights. we stayed in an Explore room whcih was airconditioned. the room was not overly large but was fine for our requirements. we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony of the room over looking the garden having... It's rather 'Victorian' quaint, but very clean, well equipped, good sized rooms, great price, and great location (10 mins walk from Chatswood Station). Complementary generous continental breakfast is the icing on the case. Ambient noise comes mostly from the birds in the surrounding trees, not traffic. So it's 'healthy' noise!

We stay at The Charrington on a regular basis when visiting Sydney. It's in a convenient location although parking can be difficult. Yes, some rooms are small but you do have an attractive balcony to sit on. The Victorian style furnishings are much nicer than the soulless boxes of the big name hotels. Beds are comfortable (but I would like... More

We thought the Charrington hotel was very charming. We Love older hotels, with history. The view from the balcony had a lovely garden view, with Amazing birds singing in the morning. Robert the owner is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. Our room was very clean. We had a very nice stay. Karen & Alex

As my husband mentioned... it reminded him of Faulty Towers... Nice old property. Small room, no air con, had a ceiling fan; room needs renovating. Best thing... close to the Chatswood train station! Plenty of Asian eateries in the area.

This is an older-style hotel but quite adequate for a short stopover, clean and reasonably priced. It is only 5 minutes walk from the Chatswood train station and shopping complex, but far enough away from the Pacific Highway to be quiet. I had a lower ground floor room with a small balcony and a pleasant green garden outlook. Bed was... More
