As part of the Fun Tassie Tours trip around Tasmania we stopped in Queenstown on the West Coast in the Queenstown Motor Lodge. The Queenstown mine has been closed for some time so progress in the town is stalled. On opening the door to room 7 we were immediately confronted by the plum coloured walls. The door groaned and creaked... More

If you like a 1980s colour scheme of bricks painted fuchsia with pink curtains and worn emerald green towels, this place awaits. The rooms are small with a crammed arrangement of a wash basin which must double up as kitchen sink on a narrow ledge that also supports the kettle and bar fridge ; with such lack of room, using... Cheap and Cheerful. Friendly staff and good food in the bistro. Old motel but bearable for a couple of nights. The scenic railway runs from Queenstown to Strahan if you're willing to pay the ridiculous price

Accommodations were as expected for the price range.  However avoid coffee if you have breakfast at the motel.  We ordered a long black and were given a cup of instant coffee for $3 (instant coffee is provided in the room)

Stayed one night whilst passing through town. Central location in Queenstown, friendly and polite staff, clean room with recently refurbished bathroom, great value for money - no negatives at all. Would definitely stay again!

I was booked in as part of my work around the state. I missed dinner but owners offer to have me dine with their family. The warm greeting was a wonderful thing after such a very long day. Room was ok, perfect for sleeping overnight. It isn't the most modern of places but I still thought it compared with the... More

We didn't stay at the motel, but went to the restaurant to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The meal as lovely, the staff were friendly and the restaurant was nicely decorated and a more intimate atmosphere than a hotel. Overall we had a great evening.

The manager was really helpful with service, although the cleaning staff need to be reviewed. When we arrived, the previous client's shirt was still hanging in the robe, and the floors looked as though they hadn't been vacuumed. One lamp was missing a globe, and on the second day we were not given replacement towels

Absolutely dreadful experience. Tiny room in need of an upgrade. Far too small to fit a double bed and a king single. Mouldy shower. Bath towels very small, extremely thin and disintegrating. Walls of rooms are thin so you here people talking in the next room. Drunken partying on the balcony walkway outside our room that continued til nearly 5am... More
