Stayed here for 1 night while travelling through Tassie, room was basic but had everything we needed. Had a lovely meal at the restaurant. Staff were great and the host advised us on a great hike to do at Montezuma Falls!

Stayed here for 1 night whilst touring Tasmania. Overall was a good standard motel and reasonable value for money. The rooms were clean, tidy and fair sized. The host was friendly and helpful. Recommended.

I fail to understand the negative and bad reviews, Being cautious, I booked for one night and as soon as I saw the room, went to reception and extended my stay by two days, The amount of time that I wished to spend in Queenstown. The rooms are clean, spacious and have everything that you need in a Motel. Last night... More

The rooms are worn but comfortable. The staff is friendly and full of information about the surrounds, the history and things to see and do. Your made feel welcome at all times. If the receptionist knows what your interests are they make suggestions on what you might like to see and do.

My family grabbed a few rooms for a very brief one night stay in Queenstown.. We booked this hotel for is affordability and we acknowledged that we'd spoiled ourselves with fancy accommodation in other locations during our Tasmanian holiday immediately before our Silver Hills experience, however, regardless of this we found the rooms too small for a little family of... I’ve stayed at Silver Hills while on business a couple of times during last year and more recently, while on a motorcycle tour around Tasmania. The breakfasts and restaurant meals are excellent quality. I can recommend the scotch filet with seafood topping and vegetables. The rooms are clean and quite adequate. Customer service is excellent. I will certainly stay there... More

No ventilation in rooms including bathroom. Soviet style service from the restaurant in the evenings. Breakfast service was better. Witnessed a customer being told by a waitress that " she only has two hands" when asked when the meal could be expected.

Thanks for your feedback... Its always good to know the context of a conversation between two people before you pass comment on the portion of it that you heard. We have a number of very regular corporate guests. They stay all week, every week. They have a very easy rapport with my staff and myself. We are a home away... More

The special deal rooms are ok, really anything you'd need, except on really hot days when neither the fan nor open door will reduce the stifling heat in the rooms. Showers & rooms were clean and good enough for a stopover. We wanted to believe the hype about the food and, since they gave us a good deal on the... More

Firstly thanks for your review. Although out of our and your control, the heat wave conditions certainly were a challenge, not just for the Silver Hills, but all motels in Queenstown, none of which offer air-conditioned rooms, some not even fans as we do. And yes there are elements of this iconic property that still appear dated, but being the... More

We needed a room for a stop over between Mt. Field and Cradle Mountain so called in. We enjoyed the stay and would stay again. The positives of this motel are the friendly and obliging staff, great views of the 'silver hills', top quality meals at the restaurant (fish of the day was gem fish - amazing!), and value for...
