All I can say is amazing meals and fantastic service by the waitress! The service at the bar was pretty average. The bar waitress was more interested in the upper bar and the young men in there instead of acknowledging my husband and I. Very disappointing. For a starter my husband and i shared the lemon pepper squid, fantastic! I... More

i stayed here a few months ago and the only thing that was a major let down was the room i stayed in. not only was it dated but was not as clean as it could have been. there was a dank musty smell and mould on the windowsill. i understand i was in a budget room and paid very... More

We returned to this historic hotel for a three night stay after having visited for a meal 7 years ago. We were both very disappointed. What I was not aware of when pre-booking is that the place is now "budget" accommodation. The rooms are not much different to when the place was built over 100 years ago. That in itself... More

The meals were fantastic! If it wasn't for that we wouldn't have returned on the second night for dinner. The service at the bars was terrible. Blunt, rude, a "whatya want!?" Attitude. The second night we were trying to order drinks in the main bar. The bar attendant was too busy chatting up some locals as we waited...and waited....my husband... More

Staff were drunk when I checked in, less bothered , had no food for dinner at 7pm.., no wifi even though they had a sign at the front of the hotel advertising it... Full of bogans from the local area...

stayed in the ensuite double room for one night and loved it. as many other already wrote, it is an old hotel and probably needs some refurbishing, but shower, toilet worked and the bed was even very comfy. friendly staff, good wi-fi. continental breakfast absolutely fine! even my bicycle could stay in the lobby:)

OMGoodness, one simply would not expect to find this quality of food in a place the size of Queenstown. I had the Pork dish and it was superb, my partner had the Vegetarian stack and it was with out doubt the best he has ever eaten.Thank you so much

Well you have to admire a menu where virtually every dish is either chicken or steak (plus as a token one fish & one pork dish). I tried the chicken schnitzel one day and whilst of substantial size, it had been well overcooked and so it was a case of rescuing the edible bits. On another occasion I tried the... More

The hotel is generally staffed by one person. You check in at the bar once she has time. The hotel is very old and shows it. The room was clean and comfortable. Nearly all businesses in Queenstown are for sale. Several are closed.
