One night break, we were so pleased to see the hall and enjoyed a warm reception from staff and fire. Loved the atmosphere and the building. I was at first very pleased with size of our room and bathroom (no 9), before I realised it was very cold. We found a small fan heater, it was still cold, obviously old... More

We were in a group of some 40 people, mostly retired. A lunch and Bridge afternoon had been arranged. We had a good welcome but the lunch, Oh! dear, just does not come up to the standard of all reviews I have just read, however they were reviews of evening meals. The beef I had was perfect, the mashed potatoes... More

Our party of 6 stayed at Solberge on a Friday/Saturday deal. All agreed that it is a very nice hotel, relaxing, with excellent staff. We ate at the hotel on Saturday and whilst the place was very busy, our meals were served quickly and cooked well. However, all 3 bedrooms were chilly, with radiators set very low. We had to... We checked into a very pleasant room for a one night stay, only to find that the television didn't work. The very accommodating staff moved us to another room that was probably bigger than the ground floor of our house and had the real wow factor. Pre-dinner drinks were reasonably priced and the lounge very comfortable. Dinner was quite simple... More

We've visited this hotel twice, once in November, once in January. On both occasions we were generally pleased with the hotel, except for one thing: the rooms (we stayed in 18 and 12) were not warm enough. Room 18, in particular, was COLD. Room 12 was chilly, but not as cold as room 18. The public rooms were warm and... More

Stayed here for one night only and was very impressed by the hotel and the staff. Very friendly hotel, 24 rooms and we had a very large one over looking the front of the hotel. The downside was that both the central heating radiators didn't work. However there was an extra electric radiator in the room plus a fan heater.... More

A great place to go for a real pampering. Restaurant, food and service exceptional. The decor us calming and traditional especially the restaurant area. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and pleasingly comfortable. A great place to go to leave the hectic hustle and bustle of everyday life. The grounds are lovely to walk in for a stroll after breakfast. A... More

Stayed as part of a business meeting , lovely location but don't trust the Sat Nav took me down a farm track. Bedroom was lovely and a beautiful en suite on a separate level although off tap shower was hard to set at right temperature , thermostat required. Didn't have chance to dine as had buffet conference food which was... More

I was able to spend a week here during a business meeting, as for country house hotels, it still required some finishing touches but it had just been taken over by another hotel group. On the day of leaving new photos were being installed along the hall ways and carpets being replaced from bedrooms and public areas. The staff are... More

Stayed in the Hotel for two nights. It is a large old building situated amid beautiful countryside. The building is grand and the hotel is well equipped and clean. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. The room we had was huge and luxurious. I cannot fault the hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
