Where to start.. My boyfriend and I had been traveling on the overnight Greyhound bus from Cairns to Airlie Beach and after the 12 hour journey we really were looking forward to the double room with en suite we had booked as a treat on our stop over. We were instantly disappointed the room was disgusting! We are both used... More

The thing me and my friend couldn't get over on our 3 night stay at beaches hostel was how dirty the hostel was. The first room we checked into didn't look like it had been hovered in weeks, the bin was overflowing the balcony was filthy and full of rubbish and the bathroom was so grimy. I asked for us... More

We stayed in a twin room away from the main building and thought it was great. Bit like staying in a motel rather than a hostel and it's wasn't too expensive in comparison to other twin rooms in hostels we stayed in. The fridge, ensuite, air con and fan were an added bonus! Would definitely stay again! Also received the... More

I stayed 2 nights in Beaches in Airlie Beach (before and after whitsundays) and.. well that was enough. It already started at the check-in, while the staff member wasn't as friendly as I expected her to be. You're working in Australia, just be happy!! I came into my room, and the advantage was that it was pretty big. When I... More

From the outside the hostel looks nice but once you are in the rooms you know why it's so cheap. I payed 18$ for 1 night and it wasn't worth one more cent. The shower was disgusting because it wasn't clean and there were white things and hair everywhere. The hostel is very big. The bar was nice and the... More

Cheap hostel per night. Was in a 10 bed dorm which is fine (I've been in a 16 bed dorm twice before). One bathroom between us all, with toilet, sink and shower all in one room. Cleanliness was the major issue for me, bathroom was disgusting - bugs crawling around. Then I get into bed after making it at 10pm... More

I stayed 3 nights in the hostel and I paid $30 per night. In comparison with other hostels where I also payed $30, beaches was from average to poor. +big rooms quite comfy beds good deals in the bar great location -not that I wanted to go swimming but the pool wasn't accessible just too expensive for what you get,... Stayed here for 1 night in a dorm. Lots of space and the bar was decent but smelt of damp and seemed a bit dirty. The pool was closed when we were there however you are really close to the lagoon so wasn't a problem
