My friend and I chose Beaches on recommendation from someone who had not stayed there, but had heard good things. When we checked into our room, we were blown away. The location is perfect, as it is on the same street as every bar and club worth going to in Airlie. The rooms were unbelievably spacious-- with 6 beds, we... More

This place is literally crawling in bed bugs, we complained about our first room got put in a second and that still had them! Myself and my 3 friends all got bitten and were refused a refund. this hostel is so dirty, old and gross and u have to pay for overnight storage so its really much better value to... More

Our timing wasn't great- we stayed the week of Schoolies (where the aussie kids leave school and go on vacation) the place was overrun by these excitable school kids and there was a concert or something on for them. This hostel is located in the middle of it all But to be honest, we were literally just passing through. we... More

We paid $18 to stay here one night in a dorm and for that you really got what you paid for. Rooms were small with single bathroom and are quite dirty. Theres communal areas and room to cook, but really the greatest thing, hands down, is the $6.50 dinners in the bar. You get massive portions, of not all that... More

My girlfriends and I shared an 8 bed dorm for the weekend. Having read the previous reviews I didn't have great expectations but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean enough, the beds were quite comfy with linen provided and the staff were helpful and even lent me a hairdryer. Yes it wasn't the Hilton but we were only there... More

Youth hostel is located in the heart of Airlie Beach. From the street level you will find the reception and the restaurant. In an old apartment building has rooms on two floors. The rooms are dirty, but large enough. The staff cleans the rooms, but not well enough. The kitchen is small and creepy. Here, the other guests are stealing... More

Where to start.. My boyfriend and I had been traveling on the overnight Greyhound bus from Cairns to Airlie Beach and after the 12 hour journey we really were looking forward to the double room with en suite we had booked as a treat on our stop over. We were instantly disappointed the room was disgusting! We are both used... More

The thing me and my friend couldn't get over on our 3 night stay at beaches hostel was how dirty the hostel was. The first room we checked into didn't look like it had been hovered in weeks, the bin was overflowing the balcony was filthy and full of rubbish and the bathroom was so grimy. I asked for us... More

We stayed in a twin room away from the main building and thought it was great. Bit like staying in a motel rather than a hostel and it's wasn't too expensive in comparison to other twin rooms in hostels we stayed in. The fridge, ensuite, air con and fan were an added bonus! Would definitely stay again! Also received the... More
