Do not I repeat do not stay at beaches it's crawling in bed bugs I seen the date written on mattress when it was replaced and said December 1999 also crawling in cockroaches you can't sit on the balcony because air con blows hot air on you good for weight loss. The shower is about a meter to low the... More

Stayed at beaches as a base to do a 3 day sailing tour of the Whitsundays. We stayed in a 8 bed dorm which was fine, Room was clean and had a decent shower. Check in and out was quick and staff we're all friendly. I would recommend the food they have on offer its great value for money and... More

If you like partying and not sleeping this might suit you. The hostel was located above their own "Beaches" bar. You get great meal deals for $7.50 but that's about it. Well, I guess the kitchen was alright also, at least you didn't have to pay a deposit for silverware. The rooms were just horrible, it seemed like there were... More

Here's some things I should say to sum up our stay at Beaches -Don't expect a full 8 hours sleep -there's a lot of socializing (random people coming into the room for a chat, making friends with people in the dorms) which is good because there's some awesome people staying there -Cleanliness is low, we had a small part of... The cleaners do not clean the bathroom instead smear dirt across the floor with mop when told reception no apology was told someone would come back they didn't. The rooms are big but feel like a prison. The location is good but horrible bathroom and saw a cockroaches crawling on floor. They have a good meal deal. 7.50 big meal... More

My friend and I stayed here for a couple of nights after driving down from Cairns. We wanted a private room, but were given a family room, which was huge (1 double and 2 single beds) and had a little kitchen attached and an en suite, which was good. The accommodation was very basic and to be honest could have... More

Nice location and good deals at the bar for food if you are a guest. The staff are also really friendly and the air condition works but you have to apply to their settings. However its possibly the smallest shower in the world... I am a small person and even I struggled to have a satisfying shower. Lack of plug... More

Its a cheap hostel, with that in mind its good value for money. The reception staff were very help full and friendly. Your bang in the center of town so do be aware that this will be a noisy hostel, but that's perfect if your keen for a night out. Also the parking was free which was very good and... More

My partner and I stayed here while in Airlie beach as it was about the cheapest we could find in town. We knew that because of this, and other reviews, it was not going to be amazing. The $20/night in a 10 share dorm is cheap, plus you get a $6.50 meal and drink from their bar downstairs, so that... More

I stayed at Beaches in October 2014 after being referred to the hostel by my booking agent for a trip up the Australian coast. I've stayed in a few hostels over the past 2 years traveling Canada and Australia. This was by far the worst I've ever experienced. Roommates held a party in the 8 person room for two consecutive...
