Its a cheap hostel, with that in mind its good value for money. The reception staff were very help full and friendly. Your bang in the center of town so do be aware that this will be a noisy hostel, but that's perfect if your keen for a night out. Also the parking was free which was very good and... More

My partner and I stayed here while in Airlie beach as it was about the cheapest we could find in town. We knew that because of this, and other reviews, it was not going to be amazing. The $20/night in a 10 share dorm is cheap, plus you get a $6.50 meal and drink from their bar downstairs, so that... More

I stayed at Beaches in October 2014 after being referred to the hostel by my booking agent for a trip up the Australian coast. I've stayed in a few hostels over the past 2 years traveling Canada and Australia. This was by far the worst I've ever experienced. Roommates held a party in the 8 person room for two consecutive... Great location, clean and friendly helpful staff. I always have an issue with any global gossip based internet places. This is a downfall Theres a TV room, a bar next door and its super cheap with the voucher the hostel give you $6.50 Its close to everything you need pharmancy and woolworths etc. Good clean kitchen though have to rent... This hostel in my opinion attracts visitors just for its price, maybe the cheapest at Airlie and its location is very good as well, it's near to the markets, beaches, restaurants and some pubs. The 8-bed is nice and kind comfortable but not too much. The pillow's bad like the blanket, if you want to sleep in peace, that's not... More

My friend and I chose Beaches on recommendation from someone who had not stayed there, but had heard good things. When we checked into our room, we were blown away. The location is perfect, as it is on the same street as every bar and club worth going to in Airlie. The rooms were unbelievably spacious-- with 6 beds, we... More

This place is literally crawling in bed bugs, we complained about our first room got put in a second and that still had them! Myself and my 3 friends all got bitten and were refused a refund. this hostel is so dirty, old and gross and u have to pay for overnight storage so its really much better value to... More

Our timing wasn't great- we stayed the week of Schoolies (where the aussie kids leave school and go on vacation) the place was overrun by these excitable school kids and there was a concert or something on for them. This hostel is located in the middle of it all But to be honest, we were literally just passing through. we... More

We paid $18 to stay here one night in a dorm and for that you really got what you paid for. Rooms were small with single bathroom and are quite dirty. Theres communal areas and room to cook, but really the greatest thing, hands down, is the $6.50 dinners in the bar. You get massive portions, of not all that... More

My girlfriends and I shared an 8 bed dorm for the weekend. Having read the previous reviews I didn't have great expectations but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were clean enough, the beds were quite comfy with linen provided and the staff were helpful and even lent me a hairdryer. Yes it wasn't the Hilton but we were only there... More
