We were locked into this lodging due to a program we were taking at the marina. It is a DREADFULLY noisy location. Their bar music shuts down at midnight, but their back wall neighbor is Magnum's another backpacker bar. The room was large, had a fridge, TV and nice en suite, however the floors were filthy. If not a party... more

As all the other reviews have said, this is a party hostel. The bar is always buzzing, full of people returning from boat trips. The people are always friendly and the staff very helpful. It can be noisy at night but thats what you get for staying in a lively buzzing place! The location couldn't be better, right in the... more

We stayed at Beaches in Airlie Beach because when booking our Whitsunday Cruise and Fraser Island Driving Experience, we were entitled to two free nights' stay in either Beaches in Airlie Beach, or Beaches in Hervey Bay. Beaches in Airlie Beach is more expensive, so we cashed in our free nights here. Word of warning - they did not tell... more

I don't think there is a fantastic hostel in Airlie but I stayed here the night I returned from my boat trip and it was clean and ok. The other reviews are correct in that it is noisy at night but the location is good. I heard horror stories about other hostels on the same road having bed bug problems... more

This is a party hostel- with a busy bar every night of the week right below the rooms. However there is a good atmpshere here and this is where most of the sailing trips etc meet for their farewell drinks the night they finish their tour. The rooms are large and are very clean and comfortable. The location is brilliant... more

Beaches was definitely a party hostel (as you would expect as it was on the main road that runs straight through Airlie). But it was a bit grotty and there are cheaper options available (namely Reefos) that are a lot nicer. The kind of people that like 18-30 holidays would enjoy staying there and being in the centre of town... more
