We recently (Aug 13-17 2008) had the opportunity to stay at the Reef Retreat. The location was excellent, just being off the main drive and a very short walk (2 minutes) to the beach. The unit we had, was on the second floor, looking over the pool. The pool was cleaned every morning and we found the facilities well cared... more

We had a pleasant stay at the Reef Retreat. I agree with other reviews that talk about the pool being in a shady area...this does impact on being able to soak up the sun. I also found the Resort to be very noisy...to avoid this I would suggest asking for a top floor room so that you don't have to... more

We stayed with Ed and Marilyn at the Reef Retreat and it was wonderful. They greated us on arrival and were so helpful and freindly with booking trips and advice. Our room was lovely very well decorated and furnished very stylish , clean, fresh and spacious. I think we paid about £60 a night for a Studio apartment. You can... more

I loved the Reef Retreat, it's in a beautiful location so close to the beach. The rooms are great, they're clean, a good size and very tastefully decorated. The communal swiimming pool and spa area is great I love the whole rainforest look too. I found the staff there to be very polite and helpful, they knew all the best... more

I stayed in a Studio apt during mid August last year it was above my expectations for the price i was paying, the aesthetics and ambiance made me relaxed instantly, with a tropical rainforest feel, a great pool/spa and bbq area, I was stoked. The staff were friendly and more than helpful, they organized a rental car which I was... more

Great hotel for a quiet, laid-back holiday. About 50 mtrs to the beach. Good room set-up with separate outdoor area for sitting, cooking, & eating that can be closed off with sliding glass doors. Nice pool & hot tub. Staff is accommodating but pretty laid-back. Palm Cove is very quiet village with limited shopping & restaurants. more

From the brochure & website as well as the price I was paying, I had high expectations for the Reef Retreat. In fact, my travel agent gave me the choice of this hotel or Peppers, and I clearly made the wrong choice. Through clever photography, the marketing of the property is highly misleading & you're in for a nasty surprise.... more

The Reef Retreat was wonderful we stayed there 4 nights and love it. I wasn't sure on arriving because I just love the sunlight and the whole place is surrounded by wonderful melaluca trees so there was not a lot of sunlight getting into our studio room as we were on the bottom floor but I'm sure if you went... more

A great place to stay just minutes from the beach and restaurants. Staff really friendly and helpful. Each room is well equipped with bedroom, lounge, kitchen and bathroom and all open plan which gives a real feeling of size and space. There is also a large balcony. On the property is a small pool, hot tub and BBQ area. I... more
