Hard to review this great place under the normal criteria below as it's far from a normal hotel. The accommodation ranges from upmarket "Grass Castles" overlooking the river, to hotel rooms and eco tents. There are also extensive camping facilities.

Our group had a pleasant overnight stay at Home Valley which has branched out into tourism to compensate for the depressed cattle industry - and they are doing it fairly well. The rooms were good. The group had a special dinner menu. We chose steak which was exceptional! Those who opted for barramundi were less impressed. A very good singer... More

We had a great 3 nights at HV8. Excellent facilities, campsite was clean and quiet, food very good, walks a treat, extra mention to Alex & Tom for their superb help with our tours, Station trip, Sundowner & Fishing. Thanks guys, great time was had by all. Be prepared to pay but it is definitely worth it :)

We spent 4 nights at Home Valley Station camped by the Pentecost river. The sunset view is spectacular. We decided to do the half day fishing trip with Tom and Sean. Having spent the last 3 days flicking lures with no success, we needed some local experience. We joined the fishing charter at 1pm where we met Tom the tour... More

Whether you travel the Gibb River Road in group or by yourself (which requires quite an organization), you will (and must) stay at Home Valley. Large-scale ranch but worth the stop over. Rooms are quite nice and comfortable. Dining room is outdoor and looks like more a ranch barn than a restaurant. It was quite full when we were there... More

My wife and I spent 5 nights in a Grass Castle room. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. Loved the walk in shower with river rock base. Lovely deck with views over Bindoola Creek. On our first night we joined the station sunset tour with champagne and canapés looking towards the Cockburn Ranges. An amazing memory of this fantastic part... More

Home Valley is a well-organised, comfortable and welcoming place in a magnificent setting which is allowed to speak for itself. We were lucky enough to spend two nights here: one in a Grass Castle and one in a guesthouse room. The Grass Castle was stunning, and if you're looking for a luxury treat in an amazing location, this is the... More

spent a night at this station last week and was very pleased with the layout and service provided in such a remote location. Camped away from the crowd around the station down at the more remote river camp and it was an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the out doors. The meal at the Homestead bar and restaurant was... More

G’day Garbo57 As has become customary in my responses and at risk of sounding repetitive thank you very much for taking the time and completing such a lovely review of Home Valley. It is probably from a bias perspective but I think we have a great little place here, as you mention “home a long way from home” , this... More

Beautiful, the rooms and grounds were very nice and clean. The station was well presented and the staff were very helpful. Enjoyed the Cockburn Lookout trail which provided a fantastic view of the ranges, would have liked to do the longer trails but unfortunately didn't have enough time. Meals were very good with excellent country singer as entertainment. All in... More

Thanks Teresa B A wonderful review, thanks for stopping by! These trails have become a real highlight for us and I agree completely, a spot of live music each night and a great meal certainly hit the spot after a long day on the Gibb. Let’s hope we can see you again soon to take in the other 8 trails... More

My wife and i spent 1 x night at Home Valley to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. we were met at reception by Tara who was most friendly and offered us some tips for entertainment whilst staying at the station. we were given our room key (AGrass Castle) and upon arrival at the Castle found a welcome gift of "Bubbly"...
