Do not expect more than a beach pousada, or kind of bed and breakfast. It is clean, but very simple. Location is good though. We saw air conditioning in the room, but the owner said he will have to pay $15 usd extra to use it for one night.... Too much !!! The breafast was fair and free. The restaurant... More

The rooms are clean and spacious, with basic furniture. The property is in front of the beach. And at the beach they only have few chair's, because there is no need for more :) They also have a great restaurant.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for two nights in May 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was quiet, calm, relaxing and the owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable and spacious, as was the room is general. There were a couple of downsides, such as the shower not working very well... More

We just spent a lovely 3 days at La Casa Grande. The hotel is a little off the beaten path but that's what we were looking for - a quiet get away. We were not disappointed. The entire staff were lovely people to work with, very accomodating, and friendly. We called ahead of time and were able to check in... More

The Casa Grande is a small hotel on Playa Bonita recently sold to new French owners. The expansive lawn facing the beach is well-maintained, lovely, and a relaxing spot to sit and enjoy the ocean. The rooms themselves are rather basic--perhaps the new owners will add more design details to make them more inviting and more "boutique-like," but they are... More

My name is Miguelina Bisono, I stayed for New Years Eve in this hotel. On the last day, we came back 30 minutes lates for the check out so the owner decided to pick up all my personal belongings stuff them in my bag and place it in the hotel storage room. All my cloth got wet and worst of... More

We wanted to go to Samana again, but decided to give Las Terrenas a try as we had never stayed there for more than just half a day. We were not sure what place we should pick so we searched the web and read several reviews on Trip Advisor. The pictures looked beautiful, and so did the description of the... More

Beautiful beach. Go to the right by the surfing school or in the extreme right past the little river for a very calm private time away from major waves. Perfect jogging. Perfect scuba diving off the islands across from the hotel. The hosts are a young French couple very passionate about their new homeland and most helpful in all bookings.... More

Sometimes you just have to trust your gut! I will not recommend doing this for non locals because it is too risky but we drove from santo Domingo to Las Terrenas after lunch on a Saturday over a long weekend without a room reservation on an impulse. We wanted to stay overnight beachside in lovely Playa Bonita. Hotels we had... More

Unlike some hotels in the Las Terrenas area, Casa Grande allows dogs to roam freely on the grounds, off-leash. So dog-owners seem to flock to this place, and at various times in the day there can be packs of them, virtually out of control. I was attacked by two dogs in the afternoon of Nov. 30, 2012, while walking back... More
