If you would like to enjoy Las Terrenas in a jungle atmosphere with tropical trees, and at night with fireflies and millions of stars: this is your place. The place is away from the crowded tourist beaches, and it takes you about 10 minutes to get to the beaches by car/motorbike. (We suggest Punta Bonita!) Dom and Helen have the... More

Owners Dominic and Helene are what make this place the gem that it is; a haven of preserved natural beauty. It is only a few minutes walk from the town of Las Terrenas, but just far enough from the incessant music to be peacefully quiet. The neighbours are friendly and you will get to know them if you take the... More

My sister and I stayed here for a week in late June 2014. Honestly, there is not much I can add to what other reviewers have said about how great the place is. Helena and Dominic (and their kids) are great owners who helped us plan our outings, gave us hints and tips for getting around, and even translated for... More

We stayed at Jurassic Park for two weeks in November 2013. Jurrasic Park has something for almost everybody, apart from those who wants to be at a 5 star hotel with aircon. But then you would not be reading this if you were. Jurrasic Park is a great base for exploring the beautiful peninsula of Samaná, with Helena and Dominic... More

This is family run business by Helene, Dominic and lovely kids. We have stayed more than a week there. Very local area and away from those hectic touristic places. Delicious breakfast was great start for the day. Swimming pool was very refreshing, clean rooms with mosquito nets and small kitchen, shower was with hot water. We felt very safe in... More

Me and my husband stayed in Jurassic Park for 6 nights from 27 february 2014. It was a lovely and extraordinary experience all the way! Very friendly owners who offer help whenever needed but never get pushy. They have a lot of knowledge about the area and can really help you to discover the nicest places in a natural way,... More

Close to Las Terrenas but away from the hectic town. In the mountains, nice fresh air, welcoming owners, nice place for good walks and contact with simple local people. Really enjoyed the breakfast with fresh fruits and many other good things prepared with care. Property is nice and clean, don't expect any luxury, it's just a pitty that the pool... More

We stayed in some amazing places in the Dominican Republic but this was probably the best. Nestled in the middle of the jungle Jurassic Park is a real escape. The thatched roof huts where you stay are basic but beautiful with four poster beds carved out of local wood and a hammock on the front porch that you can swing... More

We enjoyed our stay (4 nights) a lot, especially because of the warm welcoming of the owners. It's a lovely family that it's very interesting and fun to talk with. Actually you're staying right in the jungle, that's why it might be a bit too humid for certain persons, but for just a few nights this was absolutely ok. It's... More

I met Dominic and Helena about 5 years ago when they first moved to Las Terrenas from the UK and they have created a true paradise in that time!! Waterfalls, an Avatar Tree, SO MANY FIREFLIES...surrounded by friendly Dominicans. We could not have gotten the same experience if we had stayed at a resort. Dominic is so full of local... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Clean private bungalows, to rent, set amongst the abundance of natural beauty of Jurassic Park. The bungalows come with a fully equipped kitchen, a double bed (if required, another bed can be arranged), a bathroom with shower, and a terrace with views of the beautiful green tropical valley and the ocean.Jurassic Park is a magical place situated on a small hill, in a tranquil valley, 3-5 mins outside of the main town Las Terrenas.A short stroll behind us there are two waterfalls with pools - which are extremely inviting, especially when its hot, great for cooling off and helping to make you feel at peace with the world. We have semi controlled jungle areas which we continue to improve and make part of the attraction of being here. There is very little light pollution (no upward facing lights) so you can view the night sky, from our open pool terrace, which are mostly spectacular all year round. If you are a star gazer, a writer or a poet you would feel very much at home here.We are moving towards self sufficiency and Eco tourism. We already have pure spring water and we have solar panels and soar water heaters. We will in the future add a variety of electric vehicles for guests. If you have children then this is a natural wonderland providing constant amazement. Indeed, visits from the local children, who are a breath of fresh air, will aid your children in understanding this environment. To top it off we have a trampoline which is very popular with children and uncontrollably happy adults alike. We also grow many fruits and vegetables and indeed as I write this the wife has popped out to our herb garden for some coriander. We hope to have created a much more personal and friendly feeling. We have a great track record of content, repeat visitors. It seems that a return visit is a must, once you have been bitten by the magic and unadulterated beauty of our little oasis. Also for a small additional fee we now offer breakfast (typically eggs, toast, seasonal fruits, juices, vegetable and cheese empanadas and coffee in our jungle communal area. Its a great chance to discuss your days activities and learn the best places to go. Just let us know before hand.See you soon ... more   less
