Overall a wonderful holiday. Thank you to the MiniClub for the on-going entertainment and great attention to the children. Truly amazing both ladies! Thank you! Daniel for his everyday entertainment and upbeat personality which kept all spirits high throughout the week. The hotel offers many great amenities. Entertainment, relaxation and great food. El Pescador was amazing! Carlito in the bar... More

My husband and me spent ten nights in April in Grand Bahia Principe El Portillo. We love beach, walked a lot in both directions, sand is amazing. We love the food, both in buffet and restaurants (Gaspacho soup won my heart!). We stayed in Golden Club, room and service are very good. Activities are interesting, try an archery, and Spanish... I was there in the vibrant 2010 and went back last year (2012). The facility is deteriorated, staff looks tired, the beach water has visible signs of oil in it. I personally saw people washing cars and motorcycles in the small water falls and rivers close to the resort. Food quality has decreased drastically from 2010 to 2012. Not going... More

We really enjoyed our week at this family-friend resort. Traveling with our one year old, we found that the staff made everything easy, were always friendly, and went out of their way to be welcoming. The beach is lovely, with very gentle wave action appropriate for swimming with young kids. You can walk to the reef just offshore and have... More

Went with my boyfriend for 5 days in April. Overall we had a great time. The hotel is big, and very clean. The beach was beautiful, barely any waves. I loved the pool the most because the water in the pool was so warm it was such a pleasure to just be in the water all day. The hotel staff... More

This hotel is great for families and guests with molbitiy issues. Where the other two resorts in Samana By the Bahia Principe Chain are not. The beach is amazing as well as the food all though, I normally do not comment on food because everyone has different tastes. The have rooms on the beach and a snack bar right there... More

We vacationed here from April 27 - May 4 and stayed in the Golden Club's villas, building 7 which was convenient to everything. The first day was a bit challenging, mostly due to the language barrier. However, from that point on, it just got better! The facilities throughout the resport are immaculate and the beach is one of the best... More

We came to this hotel through a JetBlue package and for the money we spent for the trip, it was definitely a nice vacation. The hotel itself is nice - the resort is not huge but the buildings and grounds are all well maintained and regardless of what room you have, you can be at the beach, pool or restaurants... More

Great beach one of the nicest i have seen in the south! No waves, calm clear water! Nice size site with 2-3 minutes to everywhere on site! 3 a la carte restaurants! The beach you can walk for miles on either side and secluded clean sand with views of mountains all around. Bus ride a little long for 90 minutes... More
