Clean, quaint hotel. Amazing restaurant.... go to sleep and wake up listening to the waves. Very private non crowded beach...... best time i've spent in the D.R and I travel there a few times a year. Not great for nightlife - great for romance and relaxation!!! Amazing massages at a WONDERFUL price more

We went to the Samana peninsula last minute and were having a hard time finding a decent hotel because of the holidays. They were either disgusting or extremely expensive. I called the Acaya Hotel and was lucky enough that there was a cancellation. We spent the new year's celebration there. The restaurant is great, the staff is extremely friendly and... more

I had a so called luxury room with AC (did work well though) at the Acaya, hot water for two days...., stayed there for 8 nights, no save in the room, gloomy bathroom and bare, room decoration non existant, also bare and old stuff in the room, the whole thing needs a serious sprucing-up, planks and all kinds of wood... more

We read the other reviews on TripAdvisor and were really excited to stay at the Acaya, but were sadly very disappointed and left after one night to stay at another hotel on the beach. We are definitely not fancy hotel people (my boyfriend had just finished four weeks of medical service in a rural village without water or electricity so... more

I stayed there over a year ago, and I still have such strong, fond memories of the place...so much so that I feel compelled to review it so maybe it'll take the #1 spot here! Every other review of Acaya here echoes my experience: amazing spot on the beach, looks like a deserted island, quiet, undeveloped (unless you do the... more

For those of you daring enough and lucky enough to make it to the Samana Peninsula, you can choose to stay in the town of Las Terennas or on Playa Bonita which is where Acaya Hotel is. Las Terennas is very noisy but beautiful near the water. Hotel Acaya is located on a remote beach just a 5 minute drive... more

The hotel is more like a bed and breakfast. The kindness of the staff is fantastic. We travel extensively and this is the most relaxing and reasonable priced stay. You are lulled to sleep by the waves and awaken to the sound of the waves as well. There was no television or phone in our room. No crowds or heavy... more

My boyfriend and I stayed here and could not get enough of the beach, hotel and staff. We had been considering staying at the Hotel Atlantis which our guide book recommended, but got a much warmer reception at Hotel Acaya and chose to stay there, instead. Tucked away from noisy Las Terranas and much more private, it was clean, very... more

We stayed at Acaya for a week last December, after checking out of Las Terrenas due to the noisy motorcycle traffic. Punta Bonita is much quieter than Las Terrenas, and it really is the end of the road. Acaya is a small, simple and clean hotel with balconies overlooking the turquoise sea in front of the hotel. A short walk... more
