We arrived at night and were immediately charmed by the beautifully landscaped tropical garden. Our room, set in a 2 room bungalow, was also attractive and arranged as a small loft with a double bed on the ground level and 3 single beds on the higher level. It had a minimalist but quaint and airy deco and lots of privacy... More

We stayed 3 nights there and I'm quite suprised by the previous bad review. It seems that we didn't stay in the same hotel! This hotel is very clean, rooms are simple but confortable. It's very peaceful, charming, in a quiet area, just two minuts walk from the center of Las Terrenas. Breakfast is very good, the food in the... More

We stayed there for 3 nights. The room was clean, but simple. At night we couldn't sleep because of the noise comming from frogs around, peeping like a little bird.In the roof of our terras we had a mouse comming out when it was dark. The bed was very hard, woke up every morning with pain in our back.We wanted to eat one night at the... Hi, thanks for taking time to write a comment. Your problem was the different gear Euro US $ which seemed you understood. We posted prices in US $ then if the euro loses 25% on US $, we can not be responsible. If that were the case I would be brooker and not manager of hotels. All the rest of... More

I needed to book 1 night since we couldn't get into our resort. I reviewed the comments and it sounded like a nice little place. I have high expectations, so I should have not gone below a 4 star. Our bed cover was full of cigarette burns and it looked like it hadn't seen a washing machine in a long... More

Hi, thanks for taking the time to comment on our hotel. Despite the prohibition of smoking in the rooms sometimes customers do not pay attention and may happen that there are cigarette burns. Normally the staff room of the signals and changing the bedspread, which probably has not happened, and we apologize but I assure you that it does not... More

We stayed for three nights in this hotel in Las Terrenas. It was kind of difficult to find (googlemaps gave wrong directions) but Mauricio was very helpful in guiding us there by the phone. If you don't have a local phone with you when you are going there though email or call ahead to get the right directions. The bungalow... More

Three couples and we spent three nights at La Tortuga. The lush garden setting with pool is a great place for R&R. We would spend a few hours there after breakfast before heading to beach. Rooms had a queen sized double bed and the 2 or 3 twins in an upstairs loft. Nicely decorated with a/c and ceiling fan. Dont... More

I own a hotel in Santo Domingo, I have spent most of my life in hotels and restaurants, and I'm very very picky. So you could say I'm the guest from hell, I notice all the little details. I went to Hotel La Tortuga to have dinner with some friends who were staying there. And I have to say the... More

We were looking for a small village in the DR away from those big resorts full of tourists afraid to venture out of the enormous hotels with no personality where you might as well be in a Marriott anywhere in the World. We certainly found both. Las Tortugas is a marvelous haven in las Terrenas, a fisherman’s village, where Isabelle... More

From the moment you enter the magical garden of La tortuga, the melodies of tiny singing frogs and crickets greet you. Director Isabelle is a nurturing presence throughout your stay, as well as an exceptionally excellent cuisine chef. Meals at La Tortuga are succulent, the best I have ever had apart from top big city chef restaurants--but for 1/3 of... More

We came with my husband and five year old daughter for five nights and our expectations were surpassed. The owners and staff were just lovely. They went out of their way to help us with beach towels, local attractions, renting a four wheeler (so fun!). And the bungalows were so nice, with a small second floor balcony for the kids... More
