My wife and I wanted to stay in Las Terrenas (Dominican Republic) to stay on the Samana Peninsula, and because we liked what we heard about the city. We chose Hotel La Tortuga because it was well within our budget and we read good reviews about the place. The reviews were modest. The bed and breakfast is a peaceful, friendly... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed in La Tortuga for 3 nighs while traveling through DR by car. We stayed in A LOT of B and B's and hotels and this is the only place worth writing a review about. The place is amazing! The rooms are huge and so beautifully put together, there is internet access but no TV's in... More

We have been going to Panama for years and this year decided to try a return to the DR and after much research we ended up booking three weeks at Hotel La Tortuga. I can verify that for once, there is real truth in the advertising. The hotel is exactly as described and for these very good reasons is rated... More

This was a great little Bed and Breakfast. My husband and I stayed there while our 8 other family members stayed at Grand Bahia on the other side of town. This was a great place for your money. You have to understand about Las Terrenas when rating this B & B. As far as it goes, this is a great... More

I stayed in "La Tortuga" for 3 nights in December 2011, and it was a great experience. The staff is very friendly, and the price is not too high. The owners of this hotel also own a restaurant called "La Salsa" which is by the beach, a good place to have lunch and dinner. I really recommend this hotel. More

I stayed at La Tortuga in December of 2011 for four nights and it was excellent. A great value. Rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is friendly and responsive. The rooms are a little spartan (no TV, radios or clocks) which was just fine by me. There is a large screen TV with cable under the main terrace, however,... More

4 minute walk to the restaurant strip, stores, and beach. Excellent continental breakfast. The owner helped us book our day trips and matched us with excellent guides that he knew personally and the day trips were discounted. I felt very safe while there. There was also gated secure parking. More

Our family (me, my husband and our 1 year old) son stayed at La Tortuga for a week. Our stay couldn't have been better! La Tortuga is a hotel with the feeling of a bed&breakfast since there are only 7 rooms. Each morning breakfast was served at the roofed terrace in the tropical garden. It was delicious and one of...
