We spent eight nights at The Peninsula House and would have been happy if it had been eight years. It's more a guest house than a hotel. The landscaping is magnificent, the food spectacular and the rooms large, comfortable and substantial in every way. Elegance, warmth, privacy and intimacy are the qualities that come to mind throughout. In some ways... More

We stayed only one night - immediately upon arrival one notices every last detail no expense has been spared - unlinke other DR accommodations we experienced. - Tip- after we were already in DR we found out you can avoid the 2 hr drive to and from Santo Airport (and it is 2 hours not 1.5 hours like the hotel... Our Family have just finished a Christmas break in 2 suites at the Peninsula House.....Its everything the reviews say and more.....Great family team running a hotel according to their own rules....so this hotel is totally unique, like no other and a real find in these days of formulaic accommodation and trained to perfection staff....a stay here is a Special experience... This place is simply amazing - given the reviews, we went in with high expectations and unbelievably, they exceeded it in every way. If you can afford it, look no further and if you cannot afford it (yet), save until you can! The views (spectacular), the service (impeccable and yet so gracious) and the food (very good and they are... More

I stayed at The Peninsula House twice -- initially for two nights over the American Thanksgiving holidays in 2011 -- and then returned for a brief honeymoon in the spring of 2013 and again the following December. That, in itself, says how enchanting this hotel is; my now-husband, then-fiancé, and I couldn't imagine a more beautiful place to celebrate. The... More

I've stayed at many small, highly rated B&Bs and had great experiences. I've also stayed at very fancy, much more expensive hotels. This one stands out as by far the best experience I've had and I've been trying to figure out why. I think it is, in the end, the people - they are really warm and inviting, making the... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Peninsula House. It is hard to find and a bit of a haul from Santo Domingo, so it is worthwhile to fly into the La Semana airport if you can. The house itself is beautifully appointed with antiques and charming finishes. Every room is nice, but I would recommend the... More

I am not sure where to begin in describing our amazing stay. Very rarely does a property outshine what you see when looking online and at professional photographs. As you can see on the website for the inn, the decor, ambience and attention to detail looks fantastic. However, in person, we realized that to be there and feel the charm... More

Forget the dry and touristic area of Punta Cana and visit the capital Santo Domingo – take good care of your belonging and don’t wear jewels, we were robbed – and travel thru the Island to the Samana peninsula. Beautiful landscape and beaches. Hire a car and enjoy the mountains and the national park Los Haitises. Where to stay? If... More
