Having stayed here regularly over a thirty year period when managed by the Hyatt, we were appalled at the deteriation of this once beautiful and pristine resort. It now seems like a "ghost town" with precious few staff and even fewer guests. The only real signs of life were from the resident dinosaurs whose constant roaring was so annoying even... More

We stayed at Palmer's Coolum Resort last night. We were seeking a romantic night away and we found it. Our upgraded 'Executive' suite room was luxurious & beautiful. The bed was grand and very comfortable. The staff at the resort were absolutely wonderful, but we had the impression they were doing an extraordinary job with minimal resources and feared closure... We are local and have heard bad press but we had a great weekend escape. Our room was renovated and modern. Gardens a bit tired but we have been in drought. The staff from porters, through housekeeping, service and the golf club were up there with the best we have ever encountered. It made the difference.

We have a 2 1/2 year old and wanted to a safe and entertaining accommodation. Though there were some bad reviews on Tripadvisor we still went ahead. We were very happy with our experience. We had a renovated room with plenty of grass and room for our son to run around outside. Yes it was quiet but we were happy... More

We visited the resort on the last weekend in August. On arrival the Golf course greets you. It looked in very good condition form what I saw. The staff were extremely helpful and were actually interested in making your stay a pleasant one. The Village square is where the main restaurants and bar are located. The Resort shop was closed... The Good : The staff…..absolutely fabulous but I kept asking myself why they work here. The Bad: The narcissistic owner! Why is everything named after ‘Our Dear Leader’? Why are there photographs of ‘Our Dear Leader’ everywhere? Why are there two TV hotel channels devoted solely to ‘Our Dear Leader’? Why is there a (closed) restaurant named after ‘Our Dear... More

It seems a shame that this has taken nearly a year to post. The 5% Resort Fee was removed in February this year and our room rates, golf rates and meal prices were reviewed and adjusted in March this year. We appreciate the feedback but it should be timely. More

This was once the jewel on the Sunshine Coast but now it's a testament to what an oversized ego can do to a business.I stayed here 6 years ago with the family and we had a great time when it was a Hyatt hotel. This time I stayed here with a colleague on a business trip and couldn't believe it... More

Arrived into wonderful weather coming from Melbourne, staff could not be more helpful and polite. Resort is quite which was a us, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Golf course is one of the best I have played on then to be able to take a cart directly to bye beach was quite amazing

Attended a function at the conference centre in July. When looking for accommodation I chose not to stay here after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, but chose to stay at Coolum beach, just a short 5 minute drive away. The Conference centre was a great venue - possibly up to 500 people there. It was rather a long hike... More

We felt like we had stepped into a weird movie. It was eerily quiet and seemed abandoned. Gardens were a mess and infrastructure old and tired. The ever present Palmer propaganda was subconsciously disturbing.Prices were outrageous and definately did not reflect the hotel experience we thought we were going to get. Skeleton staff were friendly.Kids loved the dinosaur park.We expected an... More
