Over the past day or so I have read lots of reviews on the New Orleans Hotel. I wish I had done so before booking our accommodation there. Even then I think some of the reviews I have read must be for a completely different hotel. Firstly we where unsure where to book in, so parked in the main street... More

We did our research on Trip Advisor before booking. Awesome location with short walk to great eateries. Standard hotel room was basic with original 70's decor but absolutely fine for our 5 night skiing holiday. It was comfortable, clean and warm. The hotel had a roaring fire; good pub food; great outdoor sunny deck overlooking the river. A previous review... More

We were on our annual pilgrimage to the deep south. Our stay in Arrowtown was decided by "quaintness." We knew there were lots of smarter and newer places but we decided that it was close to "Saffron" Restaurant where our boy was the chef. While the hotel room was pretty basic, the staff made up for it. They were great... More

We were fortunate enough to be in Queenstown for a conference and managed to fit in a quick trip out to Arrowtown. We loved it so much that we skipped the last night of the conference and decided to stay the night here. What a great way to close off our visit: lovely, well appointed room, much better value than... More

We spent seven nights (4 adults) and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of this venue. We had rooms overlooking the Arrow River and the mountains which was lovely. The rooms are basicly comfortable and well serviced everyday. The staff were exceptionally friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The meals in the Pub were great although typically of New Zealand hospitality... More

We chose to stay in a BASIC room (not a deluxe) as we were out all day and just needed a comfortable, clean room for 2 nights. Whilst the Basic room has all the basics - en suite, TV with Sky, plenty drawers and shelving, coffee and tea making facilities, bar fridge, clean linen and nice toiletries, the decor and... More

Pub food with a slightly different menu. Not for romantics. Not for class. OK for watching the rugby with a drink. Brought our starter at the same time as the main. Mediocre beers. Good fire. Look up at Mickey Mouse picture.

Hi, Thanks for choosing to dine with us on Friday. Sorry you got your starter with your main. Our Beer on tap ( All Main NZ brews Two Craft Beers and two international) is by no means mediocre ... We also have 8 types of bottled beers and hundreds of spirits. When you looked up and saw Mickey Mouse, You... More

The hotel is situated in the middle of the main street in Arrowtown and you enter through the lounge bar which is a comfortable large lounge with a nice fire and comfortable chairs. Bar staff were friendly and helpful and the range of food available was excellent. Problem was I booked a room here for two nights while travelling in... More

Husband and I stayed in a deluxe room for four nights as a base to explore Arrowtown, Queenstown, Milford Sound, Cromwell and Wanaka. We had a rental car and parked down by the river overnight, where there is a lot of free long-term parking. Pros: the rooms have their own entrance, so you don't have to go through the pub... More

staff let me try the different brews before I settled on one I liked - the open fire inside is nice and the big deck area outside is lovely and spacious - I felt fine here on my own! It is really peaceful outside and I can imagine that it is a great place in the winter with the big... More
