A very warm and friendly environment. The Buffet meals were a limited variety, but excellently cooked and there was always plenty. Our three day Guide, Carlo, was always there for and incredibly knowledgeable abut the Rain Forest. Our driver from the airport spoke no English, but got very excited and stopped for us to film a giant ant eater! All... More

I just don't know where to start. I didn't know what to expect at Pousada Rio Mutum but I wouldn't have missed it for the world. I was met by the manager and given such a warm welcome. Then the complex was explained to me The site is kept immaculate. My accomodation was way better than I'd expected. Very clean... More

This was the most amazing few days. The pousada was excellent, food accommodation, wildlife and activities nothing could be faulted. Add in sunshine (and a bit of rain) a swimming pool and hammocks on your veranda. We had walks and river trips, spotted animals and more birds than I have ever seen. We rode horses and fished for piraña whilst... More

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the Pousada do Rio Mutum in November as part of a 3 week stay in South America. We had a wonderful time seeing some amazing wildlife from otters first thing in the morning fishing for food by canoe, an array of birdlife to hundreds of caiman. As part of the stay you... More

We had a great time and our guide was wonderful, the food was also great. Carlo was a superb guide, who really knows ecosystem and has deep understanding of the region's biodiversity. The setting of the resort is magnificent. We saw more birds during 3 days there than ever before.

Spent 3 nights here and wished could stay longer. Our guide Zaine was a superb birder and naturalist, giving us a detailed bird checklist and going through it with us each night. We had great views of the river otters on boat trips and saw the hyacinth macaws, great potoo, roseate spoonbill, sun bittern and a family of burrowing owls... More

Located in North Panatanal, two and half hour drive, in dry season, from Cuiaba. Only accessible by boat in wet season. Surrounded by rivers and vegetation. Low buildings, basic clean accommodation with all amenities. Good beds, air-conditioning and toiletries. Hot water, small but efficient shower. Food plentiful but basic with limited choice. Tapir and other animals roam the grounds at... More

I spend 2 days (I cut short a 4 day trip). The excursion on the smaller river branches are very nice, the guide friendly and helpful and the management very nice. The second excursion was towards an Indian village. Well no huts on stilts here: concrete block: this was a "filler" excursion. A dangerous walk on a nearby island involved... More

Let me just say WOW!! Spent 4 days here and everyday was filled with NEW experiences. We were picked up at the Cuiaba airport by their van and spent 3 hours getting to the compound. The rooms are very nice and the food was very good. The staff was exceptional...friendly and accommodating. We went piranha fishing, saw tapir, capybara families,... More

This is an ecolodge in the Pantanal of Brazil, and we had an amazing stay. It is 3-hours from the Cuiaba Airport (including about an hour on a dirt road)--but it is one of the most ACCESSABLE lodges in the Pantanal, according to our guide. The food is basic, but good. We saw so much wildlife: Caimen, capybara, monkeys, and... More
