Most definitely going into the unknown our expectations were mixed. From being met at the airport by Flavy (guide) it became evident of the sincerity and warmness of all of the staff. This charm continued throughout our time here and all of our needs were met and exceeded. We would of stayed longer and will probably return at some point... More

We stayed for three days and had a great time. The rooms were beautiful, the guide Flavio was very knowledgeable and friendly and the wildlife was superb. Especially enjoyable we're the nighttime rides on the water where you could see the red eyes of the caymans and the stars were incredible with no ambient light. The buffet meals were very... More

We stayed in 3 countryside lodges on our trip - Yacutinga Lodge in Argentina, Anavilhanas Lodge in the Amazon and the Pousada do Rio Mutum which was by far the best. It wasn't busy on our visit (at a time when the water should have been much higher and so an off-peak time) with only one other couple staying -... More

Cannot say enough good things about Pousada Rio Mutum and their wonderful staff. The rooms are spotless and beds very comfy. The all-inclusive buffet is superb with a massive choice of foods. The home-baked breads were a highlight and a wide variety of fruit and veg was a welcome sight after months of unhealthy food across South America. The activities... More

The Pousada do Rio Mutum is a home away from home for the true nature lover. It provides the simple comforts of life and a place to relax in between bird and butterfly watching, fishing for piranha, exploring rivers and lakes and wondering at the sheer richness of nature. Considering everything has had to be brought in to construct and... More

The Pantanal is beautiful. You must go!! This place ticks lots of boxes but doesn't do much else. It lacks soul or life or something. Room all air conditioned up and clean, bathroom shiny and water hot, although the arrangement of the bungalows is a bit weird, all equally spaced out in a regimented format. Food - perfectly edible, but... More

We had the most wonderful time here; great trips out on the river, horse riding, fishing and (for me) a scary dawn trip in a canoe along the river, surrounded by Caimans (once dawn broke I was fine again). We saw lots of fabulous birds and animals I had never even heard of, for example the capybara, and our guide... More

My partner & I were joined with one other couple for our 3 night Pantanal adventure. Our guide, Zaine, was superb! We could not complain about our room, everything was very clean! The lodge grounds are large and neat with a variety of bird life in the trees. Activities were fun - sunrise canoeing, motor boat sunset tour, including piraña... More

The minibus ride from Cuiaba took well over 3 hours, and is pretty uneven for the final 90 mins. Overall we enjoyed this wildlife and wetland experience, cheek by jowl with all sorts of creatures, but not, alas, jaguars. The bird life is diverse and easily accessible while we managed to see cayman (not difficult), a tapir and a giant... More

The Pentenal Wetlands affords a wonderful experience for anyone who loves wildlife, well-organized activities, good food, relaxing, and just plainly enjoying life in a remote setting. Internet was available and free; the connection wasn't strong, but then again, holidays are for getting away from it all. My favourite memory is from a very early morning paddle boat ride, slipping noiselessly... More
