As previous reviews have stated Urulu is all about the location and not the hotel. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is one of those truly magnificient world class locations - well worth the trip. We stayed 3 nights at Desert Gardens - owned by the Voyages Group (everything at the Uluru village is), plus there was a considerable price reduction if... more

This hotel is ok. I was pleased it was clean and no insects. It is basic but it has everything you''ll need. It cost us 160 pounds a night for the room. It is not worth paying any extra for a higher class hotel; it is all run by Voygers and they have the monopoly on everything. The food is... more

The hotel is fine but nothing special. Check-in was easy; nobody helped with bags or showed you to your room. All the tours stop here first and it was conveniently located in that sense. The lobby had ample seating and 2 coin-operated Internet computers available. The room was average and pretty clean with a good size bathroom and comfortable double... more

We spend 2 nights there. The bathroom is big, modern and clean, and King size bed very comfortable. Considering I was in the middle of no where, I think the price of the room was good and I was very impressed before my trip to Uluru, but the problem here are food, it was the most terrible I have ever... more

Bit nervous before we arrived as the reviews for this hotel had been a bit mixed but we found the hotel to be clean and spacious. As others have noted, the Desert Gardens is in the middle of a complex of hotels with no competitors and as you would expect is not cheap - I would say that prices are... more

I stayed at the Desert Gardens for three nights in March 2008. I had booked the room in November 07 and the cost was AUD$224 a night for a deluxe room which had a view of Uluru. Considering I was in the middle of no where, I think the price of the room was good and I was very impressed... more

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 3 day tour package with AAT Kings to see Uluru and the surrounding area. I think enough has been said by most previous reviewers - it's a Voyages complex in the middle of nowhere and, on that basis, you know that you are a captive audience and that you cannot... more

In the desert, near Uluru, there is a small area containing several hotels all run by the Voyages Group. There is no competition from other groups and we came away with the strong feeling that they've got you by the short & curlies and the place is not price competitive nor did we experience good customer relations. The staff from... more

Was not looking forward to our stay here given some bad reviews. As it was our wedding anniversary decided to upgrade to Premium room on arrival for extra 25 pounds per night. Room was excellent & had views of the Rock. It felt like it had just been redone. The bathroom is stylish and King size bed very comfortable. We... more

We only stayed here 1 night and the hotel was OK. The pool was a good size with pleasant grass surroundings and with the air temp. around 37c at 11pm it was very welcome. The problem here is price. The buffet breakfast was $29 and because we were in a group the staff could'nt cope. They can charge these prices... more
