Kulgera is on the NT/SA border and does not offer underground accommodation, despite the current images being shown on TripAdvisor. (Hopefully someone will correct this!). This is a very old pub which was recently (Jan 2015) damaged during floods in Central Australia. (Ask the bar staff to show you the photographs). The staff are all very friendly and more than... I'll never forget Kulgera. My car broke down 40 kms south on the Stuart Highway. We catch a ride to the next roadhouse, which was Kulgera. The manager towed our car back here before fixing it (we were stuck here for 3 nights). Thanks again.

This place is a steal at $20 for a powered site for 2 people for one night. Considering we are in the middle of nowhere, Kulgera Roadhouse Camp and Caravan Park does the job for a one night stay. There have been improvements to this Camp and Caravan Park since our last visit in April 2014. The toilet and shower... More

Not the most amazing place, fairly old and simple, but for an overnighter its pretty decent. TV reception doesn't exist in the rooms, but the pub offers reasonable entertainment. You wouldnt spend anymore than a night here while travelling north or south, but it's in the middle of nowhere so its something atleast!

Photo on Trip Advisor was nothing like where we slept! The carpet here was dirtier than a mechanics workshop! One small jug of water, with lots of signs saying " don't drink water & tv reception bad so go to pub" I sat on the bed and cried! How could anyone think this place was fine?? They need to be... we rode in on motorcycles ,arrived about 3.00pm on a hot day, variety of beer was good, also a good selection on the food menu, good quality & good amount on plate, liked the bar area with its bush type set up & feel, and comfy layout, out side seating at night is good as well, stayed overnight in a... Fuel here was $2.04 litre for unleaded, at Stuarts Wells its $1.99( north) Tried to eat a Bacon and egg sandwich that I was charged $8.50 for but it was completely inedible, and had been cooked hours before They charge $15 for camping, but its free further north at Stuarts Well.

We pulled into Kulgera looking for a place to stay overnight and Kulgera looked promising. Room looked OK but when we opened the cupboards to store some stuff they were full of mice droppings and cockroaches. We were not expecting luxury as we were in the outback, but really they could have cleaned the place. I guess that coloured the... More

No complaints here. My wife wanted to stay a few more days. It's quite and peaceful. A great respite after the maddening crowds of Uluru and Ayers Rock resort. Great little pub with very reasonable meals.

We camped here for 5 nights due to a mechanical breakdown All the staff were very friendly. The service and food was excellent and reasonably priced. Toilets, showers and laundry were nice and clean. Great place for an overnight stop!
