Stayed here for a night during a trip through Kakadu. Definitely the best place that we camped at. Fantastic for camping guests to have access to the same facilities (i.e. pool and eatery) as those staying in the 'hotel' part of the lodge. Would 100% stay here again, great place to relax after a couple of long, hot days of... More

Cooinda Lodge is perfectly located for all activities in the southern part of the park. We spent only one night there but would have loved to have stayed a few days. Good pool ( two of them), good bistro style food for lunch and dinner and the breakfast was most adequate. Indigenous owned and managed, the Lodge rooms were very... More

Dear IGH63 Thank you for your 5 star review, so pleased that we not only met but exceeded your expectations. Thank you for passing comment about the condition & maintenance of the property, I shall pass that feedback on as our maintenance team has made a huge effort in the past 4 months to get the property up to a... Very well worth the reasonable tariff Cooinda came as a surprise - it's like a mini town. Fuel available plus a very well stocked shop & tours operate directly from Cooinda. The shop has a good variety of souvenirs which are not overly expensive. The bistro was great and the food very good quality and quantity - the salad &... More

Dear elbe25 Thank you for your 4 star review, I have made a note about your very valid point of how the shower floods the bathroom and will certainly get maintenance to have a look during our quieter season to come up with a solution. Glad you had the opportunity to soak the "bush" away in our pools, with the... More

Cooinda resort is about 50 kms from Jabiru, the only town in Kakadu National Park. It is definitely worth the drive, through dry escarpment country, through pandanus forests and crocodile infested creeks, past the famous rock art sites and waterfalls. The resort has camping, caravanning, small back-packer types metal huts and more comfortable (and more expensive) lodges. These are comfortable... More

Good morning di j Thank you for taking the time to post your informative review, it is always a pleasure to read such a positive review. I hear what you are saying about instant coffee, may have to look at getting some "real" coffee into the rooms. Your tip about the rooms near the restaurant, also very handy, I hadn't... More

We were here for 3 nights, We've got room 39. Beautifull, We think it the room was new refurbished, spotless clean. Nice room, very modern and comfortable. The airco was soooo quiet( never had them so quit before!!) The bathroom very beautifull and clean, the only negative is that you can hear everything from your neighbours in the shower because... Dear Esther31 Thank you for taking the time to post your review, it's always very rewarding to read such a positive review. You were in one of the newly refurbished rooms & I certainly will take your observation on board about the bathrooms privacy. Mimi's has been closed for the remainder of the season due to the smaller volume of... More

Very friendly staff, and our little bungalow was also nice. It was clean, with kettle and AC and a terrace where you could sit and enjoy the nature. The rooms are a little outdated but I read they are planning on renovating them in the next few years. And to be honest, you are not going to Kakadu NP to stay... More

Dear Frau Cookie Thank you for taking the time to post your 4 star review, you are correct about our refurbishment program...we have identified that the rooms need a "facelift" and are in the process of activating this. Thank you for understanding the price structure due to our distance from Darwin & other centres in the NT where are supplies... More

After the end of a long day of travelling, landed at Cooinda. Despite the reception being closed, we found someone and was able to check in. Was instructed about the pub/meal area and when the pool closed. Snuck in a pool swim after it was officially closed, but noone called the three of us out! Room was basic and clean,... More

Good morning Thank you for your review, glad you enjoyed your "after hours" swim, definitely not to be encouraged as it is a great risk with no staff around should someone drown...however, it is very tempting in the temperatures that we experience in Kakadu. We do look forward to welcoming you back in the "Green Season" Kind regards Vanessa Thomson More

This place is very friendly, clean and well located (2 min drive to Yellow Waters, great place to spot wildlife), it is probably on of the best places to stay around. However, it is a bit expensive, around $200 a night without breakfast and the food is quite pricy, basic and limited in terms of variety. You'll pay around 25$... More

Good Mornings OlgsR Thank you for taking the time to post your review, I am pleased that you enjoyed your experience at the property but do feel that I need to assure you our high prices are a direct impact of the freight costs to get articles out to Kakadu. We try wherever possible to have our menus as cost... More

I realise these rooms (outback)are budget accommodation, and I've stayed in bunk house style rooms with a shared kitchen and shower/toilet before but these are the worst. All you get is a bed in a box. No fridge, no tv, no tea or coffee nothing but a bed in a songs and a window rattler. There's a common kitchen with 1... More

Dear ejute63 Thank you for taking the time to write your review, I constantly welcome constructive feedback and have taken on board your comments. We stayed 4 nights in one of the lodge rooms with patio. We were disappointed with the overall experience and rate it as poor given the price of the rooms. Having come to a World Heritage area and national park we did not expect to be so disturbed by vehicle noise. Tour buses pulled up in the back carpark outside... More

Dear Jolirush, Thank you for taking the time to write your very constructive review, your points are valid and I certainly will see what we can do about locating the larger buses and vehicles further back in the "campground area'. Out of curiosity did you mention to anyone that your fridge was noisy? I will certainly follow up the fridge... More
