Cooinda Lodge was a pleasant surprise as due to Kakadu being so isolated there is limited accommodation available especially in the beginning of the wet season. (December). Location - Located in the heart of Kakadu National Park, overlooking the Yellow Water Billabong, is a minute's walk from Yellow Water Cruises. Cooinda Lodge offers excellent facilities for tourists including petrol, bistro,... More

Stayed in a family room and selected the "half board included" deal (through booking.com) with breakfast & dinner for 2 plus a bottle of wine included in the rate (AUD 269). This turned out to be a very good deal. The dinner was tasty and came with delicious desserts (free to choose from the menu). Breakfast was also not bad... More

This is a basic motel with restaurants and a campground near the Yellow Water. The rooms are very basic and a bit tired. The air conditioning worked well and everything else was substandard. It has a relatively nice settings and a good swimming pool. Expensive for what you get, but this is a very remote area.

This establishment probably appears as a top class oasis to the back packers and European tourists that seem to justify the outlandish prices and poor quality, like most NT resorts. The rooms are old and very basic despite the price. No landline phone or free WIFI. The water pressure is pathetic. The TV seems to be tuned into every digital... More

This was an unexpected find, the Caravan Park being well spaced out, lush with large grassy sites, sheltered and divided by established trees and palms. We were there in November 2015 and almost had the place to ourselves. All the facilities were well maintained and the grounds neat and tidy. The lodge was a welcome haven to retreat to after... We had a powered caravan site. There are plenty of trees for shade and grassed areas for your site. It is the perfect spot to stay to see the Yellow Water billabong. You can also get sight seeing flights out over Kakadu from here. The amenities were always kept clean. Very friendly staff.

Cooinda lodge at yellow river The lodge is in a great location. The rooms are actually just like a motel room with dated tiles and a small fridge. Our room had a comfortable double and a single bed. Despite there being few guests, we were all placed together in the same blocks. This may be efficient for the cleaners but... More

The campground is well laid out and the amenities were clean. Great pool, bar, restaurant. Ideally located to yellow water billabong boat tours. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots to see and do. We really enjoyed our stay camping at Cooinda.

We stayed in a room for 2 nights. We had a campervan but it was too hot to sleep in it so we opted for a room with AC. The pool is great however the room wasn't the best. It could have been cleaner. If you're camping, the camp kitchen isn't the nicest, and there isn't much shade on the... More
