Delightful motel style bungalows distributed among palm trees and with two pools. Spacious room, comfortable beds (extra bed if needed), quiet fridge and quiet air-con. Breakfast just OK. Bistro quite good for dinner but Mimi's restaurant is really good; inventive menu, nicely presented so do try iy. Service everywhere was good, almost all were not from Oz. The location is... More

Booked into campground, beautiful sites check in was a breeze and off we went. Surrounds and people great. Dinner at bistro, salad bar nice. Pizza quite doughy/chewy did not taste fresh. Fish and chips good. Went on billabong cruise it was lovely but lacking the indigenous feel would be great to hear more about people and their perspective but the... More

We spent 2 days at the Cooinda Kakadu Lodge inside Kakadu National Park. It had been chosen by our travel agent. As we had to be at the Border store early next morning for a tour to Arnhem Land, it was probably not the best location to spend the night as we did a LOT of driving. Upon arrival, we... More

Dear Readingrat Thank you for taking the time to post your informative review, I agree your travel agent should have got you to stay at our sister property "The Croc Hotel" in Jabiru for your first days activities. We are aware that the rooms are looking tired so we have started a refurb program, which will be "rolled" out over... More

My partner and I live in Darwin, a picturesque 3.5 hour drive to Kakadu. Cooinda lodge is basic (Cabins) but homely, and all you need to base yourself in the incredible surroundings. The two nights spent here were magical, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The resturant is reasonable considering the remoteness. We recommend the sunrise (and sunset) cruises.... More

We chose to stay here as the Animal Tracks tour and Yellow Water cruise both leave from here, and it made our days a lot simpler. The people I spoke to at reception were very helpful, getting us checked in early and offering to keep our food cold before we checked in as well. The room is expensive but I... More

Dear Bristol UK Thank you for taking the time to post your detailed review, you certainly did participate in two of the best activities in the Park. Apologises for the low stock in the shop, we are held to ransom sometimes by the "freight " run. I trust you enjoyed the remainder of your time in the Nt and that... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in the campground this week Lots of shade, ferocious mosquitoes though, and it was a good spot to enjoy sunset on the yellow river. The free guided walk offered was very informative on the Wednesday evening

Dear Christine S Thank you for taking the time to post your review, as you mentioned we are very centrally located for all the activities in the South end of Kakadu National Park. I guess one of the drawbacks about living on one of the world's most pristine "wetlands" are the mosquitos...they definitely have a habit of appearing from approx.... More

It was an extremely pleasant stay. We checked in late (about 9pm) when the office is already closed but the staff was very helpful and friendly. Had a little chat about why we were late (we visited Gunlom Falls, etc).. we also enquired a little about the cruise we had booked for the next morning and she was very patient... More

Dear camscams, Thank you for your very positive review of the Lodge. I am pleased to hear that the staff were very accommodating and helpful when they were speaking to you about your tours etc. I think most people aren't aware of the vast distances within the Kakadu National Park so it was great that you highlighted this in your... Excellent welcome in reception, nice rooms, food good but expensive, two pools which the kids enjoyed. However the main reason you will want to stay here is to join the Animal Tracks Safari. An amazing and authentic adventure. Do not go on the resorts tours as the bus driver we met was not fond of tourists.

Cooinda Lodge is in an absolutely fantastic location, we have stayed there twice now (May 14 and July 14) and would stay again. The rooms are spacious and the grounds really great. The downside is consistently the attitude of the staff - they really do not care too much. Like anything, it does depend who you strike, but for $300... More

Well appointed rooms, with private and convenient verandahs. Great place to make a midway stop in Kakadu, giving access to Yellow Water. Whilst the facilities impressed, the service standards did not. Two night stay, had booked for a roll away bed for child. Roll away not in room, and we were advised that this could only be fixed next day.... More

Dear AndrewM Thank you for taking the time to post your review and for bringing your concerns to my attention... I apologise for the lack of professionalism of the staff that did not address the "extra bed" issue on the check in night, there is no excuse for that. You have raised a very valid point that I hadn't even... More
