Having just spent 2 nights here to experience the wonders of Kakadu, we found the lodge to be ideal for our stay. The staff were all amazing and friendly, the grounds are lovely, the pool very refreshing and clean. Rooms just ok ... bit dark, gloomy and could be upgraded.

We just left Cooinda Lodge as we just stayed in one of the lodges, we can certainly agree with AdelaideHillsCockney. We have been to Kakadu before and stayed in the Crocodile Hotel before and decided on the strength of reviewers to stay at Cooinda instead. We were so pleased we did so. It is so close to the action: yellow... More

Very busy caravan site, quite small sites, but great as a base to explore this part of Kakadu, the amenities get hammered when all the large school groups are having showers in the mornings, just have to get in early. Yellow water sunset tour is the best cruise of the day, magic. We had the last site in the row... More

Stayed here 2 years in a row. If considering going on the yellow waters cruises, definitely the place to stay. Nice clean rooms, fridge, kettle, air con etc. nice outside areas to sit and relax. Very well maintained. Pool bit of a hit n miss as there are great facilities here for groups, so it can get very packed in... More

Mature aged couple with 20 ft van seeking powered site for 2 nights. Booked ahead as we heard this is very busy and our experience has shown that it is just that. Busy reception but provided with great site map and they provided large site at our request. Two swimming pools and great bar/bistro areas. Booked "yellow waters" tour and... More

Overall this is a great place to stay. The room was clean and tidy but limited (which is what i had expected, so no surprise). A microwave would have been nice. We had little animal visitors in our bathroom both mornings: tiny frogs one day and a gecko the next. Loved it! It was also handy for the two tours... More

We recently stayed for 3 nights at the Cooinda Lodge & loved every minute. Cooinda's combination of hotel rooms & camping grounds means that there is a very social & family feeling to the property. People interact rather than hide away in their rooms, which is one of my favourite aspects of travelling (having a good yarn to other travellers'... More

Booked in here primarily to repower our fridge which had flattened the auxiliary battery. As already stated in other forums it is expensive for what you get but there's plenty of showers and the hot water doesn't run out. A big bonus is the swimming pools , big and small. The bistro is also not bad and the bar has... More

Dear Mudgeerambler, Thank you for your review, I do agree that Cooinda is a great place to recharge all your batteries...with it's central location you really don't have to go too far to find something of interest to do. The Yellow Water sunrise Cruise is extremely popular which does have an impact on the breakfast, we usually try and keep... More

We were in Kakadu with family and friends for the first part of our honeymoon. Cooinda is the perfect location for seeing most of Kakadu. Also, it's perfect for a big group. Everyone can do their own adventures during the day and then rendezvous back at the bistro in the evening for dinner, drinks and to share stories. We also... More

We paid top dollar to stay in a very run down caravan park. The parking attendant was officious, brusk and dismissive. He would have been more usefully employed watering the grounds. It was a dust bowl. The site was tiny and it seemed as thought there were better options. Toilet and laundry facilities were unclean, in a state of disrepair... More
