After a long, but interesting, bus trip from Darwin, the Kakadu Crocodile Hotel was very welcome. Reception was charming and helpful, the room was extremely comfortable and the breakfast, lunch and dinners were really tasty.

Unfortunately the rooms and internal gardens desperately needed a re-vamp. Large sacks of 'pool salts' sitting at the bottom of the pool looked particularly unappealing. We decided not to get in so a quick shower before dinner - bad idea. I was greeted by an army of small biting ants in my towel, which was unlucky for me as we... More

Nothing really wrong with the hotel, but it has no equivilent competition. Place is run on minimum staff who do their best but are rushed off their feet. Staff all helpful and pleasant. avoid rooms in the "tail" eg room 157 VERY noisy due to mechanical plant above had to move rooms as we are light sleepers, no problem in... More

This hotel has been around for quite a while and needs some renovation however we still found it quite acceptable however I agree it would appear very expensive in peak season. It is good value if you can go in late May. We were on the ground floor which is much preferred as we had direct access to the pool... More

A really nice place to stay while exploring the Kakadu National Park. We were booked with AAT Kings for a 4 day tour. The hotel is fascinating in that it is built in the shape of a crocodile, with the belly bit hollowed out and exposed to open air, the sun, and with a swimming pool nicely shaded with trees... More

The hotel is nice, but not at all what I expected after having payed a ridicilous amount of money to sleep there for two days. The rooms are okay, but nothing special. The worst thing is that you're basically in the middle of nowhere and they do not provide internet to their guests. I think it was 25 aud to... More

Hotel was fine, but the service in the Restaurant was very poor, in my opinion the dining room and or kitchen are understaffed On one night I ordered a soup as an entre which took 20 minutes to arrive, then from ordering it took an hour for my steak to come out, I ordered it with chips and salad, it... Access is poor and there is no lift to the first floor. Though we stayed there 30 years ago I often got lost trying to find my way to the restaurant & car park. That said, the food was excellent as were all staff we dealt with.. reception, waiters and cleaners.

The hotel is perfectly placed in magical Kakadu, and a quaint idea of a design... and we had good memories from a stay here a decade ago. Today, it's a real disappointment as a modern hotel. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful, but the place sadly needs more than a willing staff and management team can deliver. The... More
