Aurora Kakadu is a bit far from the main attractions. (Please don't confuse it with Aurora Lodge in Jabiru town). It's in the middle of nowhere so it's almost easy to miss. We stayed there for 2 nights in June. The rooms are average but clean and spacious and the facilities are reasonable. Reception is friendly. Due to its remote... More

Of all the places we stayed in the Kakadu/Katherine/Lichfield region this was the best. The staff were extremely helpful. The accommodation was spacious, clean and had everything we could wish for, albeit a somewhat dated décor. The food in the restaurant was very good.

Don't waste your money if you truly want 3 star accommodation. Aurora Kakadu is well past its prime. The rooms are rotting, decaying, rusting. Bathroom fittings, taps etc., have been cannibalised by past guests, and no maintenance has been carried out to replace missing hardware. The restaurant menu is very predictable and expensive. The reception staff are itinerant back packers,... More

From outside the hotel looks a bit out-dated. However, staff is very friendly, rooms are clean and linnen are excellent. There is a pool and a small but good bar/restaurant. The Aurora is certainly much more charming than the Crocodiles Hotel in Kakadu. Would stay again.

This was a tidy, clean hotel. Staff were friendly. Food for dinner was great. The only disappointment was its a long way to Coinda and Jabiru. We found this out when we had to get up at 5am to get to the sunrise yellow water tour. It made for a long day.

When looking for where to stay and to get to see Kakadu National park, I reserved the place, due to distances from sites there were just few choices of where to stay, Jabiru had 1 hotel and this one (out of 2 options with ensuite bathroom decent on the internet one looked good. The place is ruined down need a... More

We had the park to ourselves, nice lush green grass, underfoot. Great caravan park, plenty of room for large vans, and an ideal starting point to Kakadu, the park is close to the Mamukala wetland viewing bird hide which is a short drive over the South Alligator River. Do not confuse this Aurora Resort in South Alligator with Aurora Kakadu... More

We stayed at Aurora for two nights with a group. We had a quadshare room, and it was a very spacious room. The bathroom was big as well, with a little ante-chamber. That was especially good as we were four girls. There is a nice pool in the center of the accomodation, which was very refreshing after a hot day... More

Our visit of one night at Aurora after a long day touring was quite pleasant. The reception staff were friendly and inormed us about where our roomwas located, plus meal times. The room was basic and a reflection of the age of tihs establishment. The main thing was that it was clean and tidy, with tea and coffee making facility.... More

This is a great place to stay for visits to the Jumping Croc Tour, Nourlangie Rock, Ubirr, and the Yellow River. We stayed two nights in a ground level room off the pool. The building is old and in need of updating. The room is the bare minimum-bed, desk, couple of chairs- but was clean. There was no television reception... More
