This is in the middle of nowhere, about 30 minutes from the closest town. The setting is nice, spacious with a pool a restaurant and a bar/grill. When we arrived (we were with a tour group) our booking had been lost (strike 1). We had to wait till they eventually sorted out everyone else and finally retrieved our booking. They... more

I recently stayed here for 3 days. It seems that the complex has renovated its room as the one we had was quite stylish. Alas the renovations had not extended to the bathroom as it was still "70's" style all the way. Apart from that, the rooms are very comfortable and the pool is an oasis in the middle of... more

Motel with both budget and "de luxe" accommodation. After the long drive from Darwin and the seemingly endless Bush, this seems something of a pleasant , green oasis. There is plenty of birdlife in the well-kept lawned grounds. Reception staff are efficent and friendly. However, the "deluxe rooms"show their age--we stayed here 5 years ago and nothing seems to have... more

This place is not worth the money. The bar is o.k., the bbq facility is alright. But that's about it. Our room was large, but it was dirty and needed some renovation. The bath was awful. Some of the staff was helpful and friendly, some of it was not at all. I would rather spend some more money and stay... more

Kakadu is a fascinating place to visit, located near the South Alligator River on the Kakadu Highway, about a 2.5 hour drive from Darwin. It is a a few kilometers drive from the resort to a wetlands area with a viewing blind that is accessible via a short walk from a small car park. Our visit to the viewing blind... more

I spent three days there. I have just returned from a month travelling across the USA and was interested to see how remote accommodation stacked up. Aurora Kakadu is about 200km's from Darwin so it could have problems with facilities like water and power. In fact it is very lush with beautifully maintained grounds and pool. The buildings are basic... more

Stayed here for one night only after leaving the Bark Hut Inn in disgust. Really DO NOT stay at Bark Hut. Its disgusting and the rooms aren't worth $10AUD let alone $60. This place is only just a bit further along the road and i would certainly stay here again. Anyhow this place is clean and comfortable. The rooms are... more

We didn't get the hotel we were expecting when we arrived at the Aurora Kakadu. Although it is set in nice grounds with plenty of wildlife, is is more Butlins than Hilton! Little tin shacks, very basic rooms with old fashioned furnishings but clean and reasonably comfortable. What did make up for the disapointment of the rooms was the staff... more

Stayed for one night in October 2005. The room was a twin with bathroom. The outside appearance of the rooms was not very appealing and the inside was pretty depressing. Very run down and not very clean, lights not working and very dirty windows. Though sheets and towels were clean if well worn. The plus side was the location, the... more

Stayed in this "hotel" 1 night in August 2004 in a budget room (private use), paying $100. Someone should explaing these guys that budget doesn't mean dirty! You couldn't see beyond glasses, I fought with 3 spiders and everything was very old and dirty except for beds. Moreover, staff attitude was disappointing and at my arrival they first gave me... more
