I have just come back from a one week stay at the Riu Palace. I normally do not write reviews, however loved my stay at the hotel so much that I decided to write one. The hotel staff was extremely friendly, we quickly became friends with many of them; Christina, Mauricio, Roberto and Monica (staff at the Arenal buffet). Christina... More

the distance from San Jose was four hours, the ride was brutal. Once there the staff was good, the checking process was ok, the bell person Luiz was great and very I informative. The main buffet was just ok, the pool side meal at noon was very good. You had to make reservations for three of the restaurants at 9... More

We went to the Riu Palace for our Honeymoon and it was fantastic. The staff were amazing, the food even better and we had a great time. They went out of their way to ensure that all my food allergies were looked after (not an easy feat)! Lots to do, safe clean beach in front of the hotel.

Stayed October 6 - 13, 2014 with Sister. It was our first time in Costa Rica, but have been to many Riu properties all over the Caribbean. We had a good time at this resort. The Resort is beautiful. Very modern and spotlessly clean. Our room was great, large and comfortable. It was kept clean and replenished with fresh towels... More

We just returned from 1 week at Riu Palace Costa Rica May 8-15 and had a great time. We have traveled a lot through Mexico and the Caribbean including other Riu properties. Check in was fine though the lines were a little unorganized. We arrived early and appreciated the courtesy rooms available off the lobby. The lobby was very contemporary... More

Stunning area and... More

This was our first visit to Costa Rica and the Resort was first class. The service in the restaurants and bars was excellent and most staff spoke English very well. We would like to commend Gina Mora and Maria Cristina Magpayo, waitresses in the Arenal Restaurant, for their outstanding service. Food was high quality and very fresh with plenty of... More

My husband and I have never been to Costa Rica and after asking friends, it was the RIU or the Westin. The Westin was a bit pricey the time we wanted to go so we chose the RIU Palace and travelled April 25-May 2. We booked through Sunwing/Signature (highly recommend upgrading to Elite Plus for the Sunwing flights) and the... More

After a year researching (and reading Happier than a Billionaire by Nadine Hays Pisani) my boyfriend and I (as frequent travelers) decided to make our next trip one to Costa Rica. It was our first time in Costa Rica and we fell in love. We stayed at the Riu Palace from April 25-May 2nd 2015 (the end of their dry... More
