We stayed at this resort Jan 11 to 18 2014. The resort is fairly new, only being open around a year. The palms are young and are not large and flowing, like the Riu Guanacaste next door (which as a guest of the palace you have full access to). Costa Rica is great! You can drink the water everywhere, which... More

We have been on over 60 trips in our lives, and probably a dozen or so to AI's. Let me begin by saying this may be one of the best. Here is the great, the good and the bad from a seasoned traveler. Arrival and the Resort: This resort is about 40 minutes away for the Liberia airport. The drive... More

Stayed here for a girlfriend's wedding. Came into my room on the first night and there were sticky floors and leftover food from the previous guests in the nightstand drawer. Called the front desk to ask for it to be cleaned, no one came for hours. Then called again, when the front desk said that I should clean out the... More

This was our final destination of our honeymoon excursion. We first were booked at the sister hotel, but got upgraded to the Palace then upgraded again for a better room. They were overbooked in the sister hotel so they moved us to the better hotel. We loved this hotel. The only thing was the food, you are much better off... More

Great experience at the Rui. We ate at all the restaurants - the Italian was the worst, the food just didn't taste good, we ended up going to the buffet afterwards. Food at the Krystal - the best, but there is a dress code. The Steak House - average food Tokyo - average, but good. We have a jacuzzi suite... More

As I typically like to do in my posts I will begin by demystifying the region the Hotel I am reviewing is in, and provide some insight into that region. I have traveled throughout Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and Nicaragua scores of times and have stayed at dozens of resorts in the area, unfortunately I have not reviewed most of them.... More

I booked to stay at this hotel for 12 days but made it only 3 days -children crying in the night and running in the halls were two complaints ;but on day 3 saturday ,I became very aware of the number of people and children in the pool and swim up area ,drinking unlimited drinks and not getting out of... Everything about the Riu is right. First, the people - friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern with all the conveniences. When something isn't right - our fridge wasn't working - it gets fixed. Our room was switched after we complained of a noisy pipe. There is a great pool area, with several pools and activities. The food is excellent... More

Very modern style, nicely done. Several pools with shaded areas, beach is a long walk past the pools. Dont like the fact that there are no bathrooms in the area of the pools or beach, you must walk back to the main building. The buffet is fantastic breakfast and dinner, not much to eat at lunch. Stay away from the... More
