We really enjoyed Riu and the view from our room was amazing. Great combination of relaxing and adventurous. Check out the guys on the beach and go on the ATV tour. Food was great and the pool is always lively.

We enjoyed ourselves immensely and nothing about this review should deter you from going as I am just pointing out our observations. You might have a very different experience. We just returned from the Riu Guanacaste in Costa Rica having stayed from Dec. 15-22 2014 and overall had a really great time. I'll break my review into sections for easy... More

The hotel was beautiful and the staff great. Rooms very spacious and beautiful views. Plenty of activities for adults and kids all day. Beautiful grounds and the food very good and a great variety. Five different restaurants on the premises and all very good. They do have local tours which are relatively close to resort and others further away but... More

I returned a few days ago from a week at the Riu Guanacaste and honestly did not want to leave. The resort was beautiful, easy to navigate, and very clean. The people working there were amazing; we made friends with and were able to get to know many of the staff on a first-name basis. Everyone was very helpful and... More

We booked a room (all inclusive) for 3 nights. Everything is great. The only thing I did not like about this hotel is the restaurant reservations. There are two restaurants (steak & seafood) that you would need to make reservations for. They have a lady who works from 9am to 12pm to take reservations. The worst part is that you... More

Overall, I was very pleased with the RIU Guanacaste. I have been to many, many places and as usual there are some pros and some cons. But if you are looking for a lovely spot that is fairly quiet and surrounded by a lot of nature, this is a very comfortable place to stay. Pros: - pool area is fabulous,... More

My daughter and I recently spent a week at the Riu Guanacaste, and I would stay here again. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and kept spotlessly clean. An open air section of the lobby has palm trees growing around a beautiful fountain with song birds resting in the trees. The outdoor pools have many different alcoves, so you don't... More

Being our first all inclusive vacation, I wasn't sure what exactly to expect. After reading review after review on Riu Guanacaste, I was beginning to wish we had booked another place. I am super glad we didn't. The Riu Guanacaste was fantastic! We vacationed with another couple from Dec. 4-12. The hotel was gorgeous with it's open lobby layout and... More

This hotel was just what we needed. It was clean, the food was very good (lots of variety), the hotel, concierge, wait, pool and housekeeping staff were very professional and friendly. We had a large group (3 grown sons, their spouses/significant other, and 4 grand-kids). everyone enjoyed the facilities, the nearby activities and recommendations from the concierge group. A special... More

This place is a disaster. You can't get near the pool. The wait at the bar was horrendous. It felt like a factory. Had to change rooms 3 times. If you have young kids and you have booked this place make sure you do not get a room over the theatre....the partying goes on way late into the night. One... More
