My second trip to Costa Rica. My first Stay at the Riu. I was a part of a group of 5. We pretty much agree that the hotel was adequate. I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. The place was reasonably clean, the staff was helpful, the food was plentiful. However, the restaurants closed a little too early... More

This was my first experience to Costa Rica, don't know if I would go back. Guanacaste is a great location for nice weather especially in June,as it's there rainy season.we had only a few days of rain but extremely hot and humid. The hotel is located in its own little area, where your a captive audience as nothing is walking distance... More

The chicas and I stayed at the Riu from 7/17 to 7/21. This was the first for me, but the third for the chicas. However, we had an amazing time. The chicas have stayed at the Riu on the previous trips, my first, so it was great. My issues, there was not much to do around the Riu. Seems to... More

CONCLUSIONS This is an architecturally beautiful, clean, and well maintained property. Good food. It is a relatively 'young' resort, which still has a few issues that it must sort out before it can truly be considered to be a full 4-star destination. In my opinion, until a few changes are made, this resort may be best for adults without young... More

My girlfriends and I stayed at the Riu from 7/17-7/21. This is our 3rd Riu property and it is time for a break. All Riu's are pretty much the same in terms of decor and food. The major differences are based on the culture. Overall the trip was fantastic. We had such a great time which was attributed to our... More

I was here three years ago and it has definitely depreciated. The food was mediocre and the alcohol was terrible. Instead of a nice relaxing place, it has become a spot for trash with misbehaving children. I couldn't wait to come back and now you couldn't pay me to return. However, Costa Rica is beautiful.

RIU does it again. This my 4th stay at a RIU and they never disappoint. The key is to accept that for the money, you get what you pay for and the value for what you get is great. Getting to the hotel was fine..we took one of the "red cabs" right when we got off the plane. The fare... More

Went to a birthday party at Guanacaste. This was a less than pleasant experience. We were served coffee with Baileys that had bugs in it.The bugs were BIG its not like the bartender did not see them...as in more than one. Not just once but twice. Very difficult time getting a beverage ...did not matter if it was a coke... More
