We went on our honeymoon here. We were really concerned about the weather since September is rainy season and the weather forecast tells you rain everyday all day. They were wrong; and even the people at the resort will tell you to ignore the forecast. We had sunny days everyday until 4pm. And these beautiful rain storms would come in.... More

My Friend and I spent one week in Costa Rica At the Riu Guanacaste. The hotel is very beautiful and is well maintained. Rooms: The room was very spacious and clean, but we had issues with the toilet being clogged and the fact that the balcony door wouldn't lock wasn't very good. I will add that when we called front... My family was looking for a nice and relaxing vacation. Instead, we got to a very loud hotel with loud music and dance at the pool. Not to mention the factory-style food. Don't even think about wine! I tried to find another hotel to avoid ruining our vacation, and had to get down to the lobby (no internet in your... More

This hotel looked better and better as the days went on. The staff was on point and the entertainment was impressive. My partner and I made some new friends and are really missing the Pura Vida life of Costa Rica! The grounds of this hotel were nicely maintained and our room was really nice. We did many excursions which we... More

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon. The grounds were beautiful and the beach was gorgeous. The rooms were nice but there are only a few rooms that give you ocean views. The staff was great. They were vey courteous and worked with us to help our needs. The food was horrible. The buffet food was a usually... More

We were robbed the first day at the resort-our back pack was stolen from our lounge chair while we were swimming in the pool. The bag contained our iPhones, clothes and watch. We came to find out that the people siting next to us also had their personality stolen. The worse part of the experience was the lack of help... More

If you are interested a massage you must use booth #5 on the beach she is awesome. It was the first time I heard... More

I really enjoyed my stay at Riu Guanacasta. The staff members were excellent and the entertainers work night and day to ensure you have a good time. I befriended nearly every staff member and they knew me by name. I was never hassled to give a tip, but I did because the staff members work relentlessly. Maria, front-end manager was... More

Although this is a lovely modern hotel with beautifully manicured grounds, the food and amenities were a bit less than expected. Our trip this summer with our 2 boys (ages 14,12) was a lot of fun but the Riu did not live up to our expectations. Our room, a 2 bedroom family suite, was lovely and we were quite happy... More

The place is beautiful, for sure. Make sure you visit the Monkey Bar down the beach to see Howler Monkeys around 4:30pm and have a drink (not included)... My issues with the place were: Locals. On Friday - Sunday this becomes a place for all the locals to come to spend the weekend. That's fine, except that on the weekends... More
