Weather was great! The pools were nice & the hot tub was actually hot! We have stayed at other RIU resorts in Mexico, so food, drinks, entertainment, & clean facilities about the same. The only food we did not like was at the Toucan Gourmet restaurant. Both had the beef filet & could hardly chew it. This time we did... More

We stayed in Riu Palace, in January. Jan and Feb happens to be the windy months. Riu palace is a new addition to the existing Riu. The old hotel looks to be of better quality. I would recommend getting a package to be able to eat in a new hotel, although the food was very decent for an all inclusive hotels... More

Put this hotel anywhere is the world and you will get the same ambiance. Hotel was filled with people just looking to sit poolside all day getting drunk. Meals were average quality, and the hot dogs and nachos offered between meals were inedible. Beds were hard as a rock and the water in the bathroom had a distinct odor. Don't... More

We would not say Riu Palace is a kid friendly resort but overall enjoyed our stay. POSITIVES Very friendly staff, especially the ladies that cleaned our rooms Excellent buffet for breakfast and dinner Clean rooms and facilities Good entertainment Nice pools (too deep for small kids though). They could have easily made one of the pools a little more shallow... More

My Boyfriend and I plan a yearly trip in the winter months from NYC. We stayed Feb18th-Feb 25th. We usually only stay at a Secrets or any of their other chains of hotels because they never let us down. We were looking to Dive in the pacific and since we could not find a hotel we wanted we chose the... More

My husband & I along with another couple stayed here for 7 nights. This place caters to you in every form. Entertainment, food, activities. Also I recommend getting a massage on the beach from the private vendors there. I had two deep tissue massage for 1 hour for $35.00. The two ladi es working there are in spa #4 Rebecca... More

Having visited most areas of Costa Rica and livening here for 2 years....this resort is a typical all inclusive....unless you do excursions you wont's get the vibe of what the Ticos are all about. They're beautiful, wonderful people and you should get out and experience their wonderful country. We went for a day and it was enough. The beach is... More

We have stayed at the Riu Palace in Cancun- so we were a bit disappointed with a couple things at this resort. The property is absolutely beautiful. What we were disappointed in were the hard beds, poor service at the pool (not at the bar) no one came around to take our order at poolside. There was very little seafood... More

Spent 2 weeks in February to attend a destination wedding. Everything was absolutely perfect. The resort is immaculate! Everyone I met was friendly, gracious and genuinely wanted you to have a great time. The food was great, very diverse (loved the fish/seafood). I enjoyed the specialty restaurants, but spent most of my meals at the buffet. Exceptional service (special thanks... More

I think I'm over resorts. It's just not my thing. I want to experience the culture when I travel, not feel trapped in a resort. With that said, I was at this resort with a group, didn't have a choice about where to stay, so I was trying to be laid back and go with the flow. But I have... More
