What a lovely place to stay. Made so welcome and the accommodation was fantastic. Mike made us feel so welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. The Edwardian house is stunning and the gardens also, a great place to have an evening drink. This B&B is situated not far from some wineries and close to Hastings and Havelock... More

We had a lovely stay at Hawthorne House - it is a beautiful house that has been thoughtfully renovated, in a very pleasant rural location. Mike made us very welcome; the evening canapés and glass of wine was a nice touch, and we enjoyed a very relaxing evening in the comfortable lounge area. Mike's freshly cooked breakfast was delicious. We're... More

Outstanding service from Mike and the perfect peaceful hideaway. Living in Hastings, just married and not wishing to travel far, yet needing time away from our home we stayed in the perfect location. We would highly recommend others to spend a night at Hawthorne House like we did. We enjoyed travelling only 5kms to our destination and being able to... More

Awesome hosts. Mike was Very helpful, informative and went the extra mile via email pre-arrival. On arrival we were greeted with a very welcoming, friendly tour by Mike and again informative of surrounding activites and all features regarding Hawthorne house history. We have experienced a lot of B&B's overseas and would rate the hospitality, food, room and location as the... More

We spent an evening at Hawthorne House while making a short tour of the wineries in Hawkes Bay. After spending a couple of nights at standard motels, Hawthorne House was a pleasant and welcome retreat. Surrounded by a gorgeous country garden, the house is clean, comfortable and and thoughtfully decorated. Upon arrival, Mike, our host, informed us that he had... More

Recently the Odyssey New Zealand staff were privileged to have stayed at beautiful Hawthorne House. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown to our spacious, tastefully decorated rooms before joining the rest of the team for drinks out in the surrounding serene lush gardens. This was followed by an introduction to the story and characters of the Murder Mystery... More
