The warm welcome was just the start of an amazing stay. We were indeed fortunate to time our visit with a jazz afternoon in the lounge. A great concert in wonderful surroundings. The views over the water to Paihia would be hard to beat, dinner that evening in the handsome dining room was excellent and our room was very comfortable.... More

We had a long weekend break and loved it. Great food, superb character and amazing staff. We had such a relaxing time & a waterfront room just makes the stay that much better. Russell is such a great little place to visit & The Duke makes the stay complete.

We had a room with water view and it was sensational. It was a busy time in the dinning room but our service and dinner was faultless. We shared the roast Shoulder of lamb which was cooked to perfection. We definitely will be returning someday soon.

The views, the food, the service, the room - all were top rate. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend it to others. The history of the area is fascinating and to stay in such a lovely place just added to the enjoyment for us.

Excellent location on the bay and with the room upgrades planned will make this a gem. Travelled with our 8 yr old grandson and the staff/hotel were most accommodating. Dinner was excellent and the accompanying wine list most impressive. Lovely warm atmosphere with the fire. A return trip is in the planning. Many thanks to all the friendly staff.
