We had 2 nights in an upper room overlooking the harbour. The room is very comfortable with a lovely balcony to sit and enjoy a glass or 2. Excellent bathroom facilities, large shower and everything you need. Rose and Simon are excellent hosts and provided lots of useful information and a good brekkie. We enjoyed 2 meals at the Anchor,... More

Having arrived in Nelson, we were advised by the iStore (information) that the Harbourside Lodge was very nice. Correct. We booked and drove a short distance to be greeted by a very cheerful and helpful manager. I think, from memory, her name was Rose. This motel is situated by a Marina, and there is a watering hole, with restaurant, within... More

This was a wonderful place to stay – right by the docks. We were able to sit outside in the late afternoon and look at the yachts with glass of wine in hand and just admire the view. We ate at ‘The Anchor’ restaurant next door – which was excellent and extremely popular. Mussels and salmon washed down with good... More

Rose and Simon are the ultimate hosts.. there was an offer of help with bags, an offer to use Simon's bicycle, and of course the brilliant breakfast. This is more like staying in a small hotel in Europe than any other experience I have had in many years of traveling around NZ. Apart from all of that.. my room had... More

What an experience! From the moment we arrived and saw the marina view we loved it. The rooms with a view are slightly more expensive but well worth it. The inclusive complementary German style breakfast was excellent and having the linen and crockery replaced every day was a real treat. The adjoining restaurant was also very good.

After contacting quite a few places in Nelson looking for somewhere where we could check in earlier than 2pm as we had a wedding at 3pm and wanted to be able to shower and change on arrival - most places either didn't bother answering or told us we would have to pay for another night. I contacted Harbourside and immediately... More

Great facilities, spotlessly clean, nice & quiet location but easy access to CBD and excellent restaurants nearby = great nights sleep with complimentary continental breakfast. Left an item of clothing which Rose promptly mailed the next day at no charge!

On the way out to dinner (on a Saturday night in this town we'd never been to in our life) my wife suffered a severe bout of vertigo making her totally disoriented and unable to stand up straight. We returned to the motel and sought advice from Rose. She dropped everything, called the local hospital and then drove us to... More

Rose and Simon were extremely friendly and helpful hosts.......they went the extra mile or two for us. Location was near the airport, which was convenient for our next stop. The room was neat and clean. I would definitely recommend this motor lodge if you are staying in Nelson.

Thank you so much for this review and the nice words about our staff. We know they are worth more than gold and that every business stays alive or dies with good or bad staff. You are always welcome again. More
