From the outside it looks like the hostel might have seen better days but on the inside it is well looked after, spotlessly clean and spacious. There is a front and back garden and a balcony and the kitchen even has a dishwasher! I had a great time here and the place seems to attract a decent crowd. The main... More

At first glance, the backpackers has seen better days but once inside you know you'll be comfortable. Everywhere is clean, the kitchen is very well organised, in fact probably the cleanest kitchen we came across in a whole month, comfortable beds and plenty hot water. Comfy lounge, BBQ area and a great deck (why do N. Zealanders say words with... More

We stayed here twice, before and after kayaking the Abel Tasman. It's located just out of Nelson in a small village called Tahunanui, there are regular buses to and from Nelson, the bus stop being right on the doorstep. The owner, Colin, is a really nice welcoming guy! He collected us from the bus when we arrived which made things... More

Owner picked me up from centre, great terrace with bbq, cosy lounge and spacious kitchen. Wifi definately needs some upgrading but was free. If you book a trip to tasman/skydive most busses will pick you up from the hostel. Bike's are for free, only 15 mins. to centre.

A wonderful quiet place to stay. Only blocks away from the beautiful Tahunanui beach and downtown Nelson is easily only 10 min bus ride away or 30 min walk away. Rooms, bathroom, and kitchen all are very clean, the beds are comfy, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. There is a large kitchen, cozy living room, and nice... More

We stayed here for two nights, the owner was really helpful and friendly. He picked us up when we arrived on the intercity bus and even better he dropped us of as well when we had to leave at 7am from the city centre. The hostel was very clean, and comfortable with spacious rooms, and communal areas. Thanks Colin for... More

Very clean, peaceful and spacious old style house. The owners are very friendly and hospitable. There was an admin problem, but fortunately it got sorted. We arrived early, and as there was a free room were allowed to go into it straight away at 10 a.m. It was very kind of them to drop us off at the airport, thanks!... More

I had a wonderful time here, which was a product of the warm, relaxed social atmosphere that the owner and the workers he hired fostered as well as it's location close to the beach. Whenever I go back to Nelson, I will stay here. Great value. My room nothing special, but fine. There is a large kitchen with two stoves... More

The owners are friendly and welcoming here, the rooms are clean and spacious, the bathrooms are spotless and the kitchen is a decent size with dishwasher which is a nice touch. I met lovely people of all different nationalities here and the whole place has a relaxed homely feel to it. There's a deck area with BBQ for catching the... More
