Richard and James have put together an outstanding place. The Victorian House is beautifully decorated and the gardens are wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for our excellent hosts including moving us for our second night to the ground floor apartment. Both the rooms we had were beautiful with incredible views but the stairs were a little troublesome! When I... More

This victorian building has been lovingly renovated by the current owners and the quality of the work is apparent at every turn. Set on a hillside overlooking the Tasman Bay (did I mention the views?) the house is a delight to look at and stay in. Our room was ground floor front and had a verrandah and a small garden... More

We stayed at this wonderful B&B two years in a row. All the rooms in this elegant Victorian house are clean and beautiful. It oversees the Tasman Bay and is close to the beach and Abel Tasman Park a bit further down the road. I wanted to stay in our room all day and just enjoy the view but there... More

Words cannot express how grateful I am to the two hosts/owners of this BB. Without James, I wouldn't have made it to Abel Tasman tour without his directions, or to Blenheim through Queen Charlotte Drive or even throughout the rest of my stay. I accidentally forgot my laptop computer here and I couldn't believe it when the host at my... More

What a brilliant place with magnificent views. Located a few minutes from the city centre and with lots of restaurants within walking distance. Our hosts, Richard and James were a hoot. James cooks up a mean breakfast served with all the trappings. A standout is his orange juice...pulp and all. As for the sartorially dressed Richard in his tighter fitting... More

The house: a nice, cozy, hardwood floor home. A great balcony and a great garden for sitting with a drink at the end of the day (both overlook the Tasman Bay facing west). The room: very well-kept, comfortable bed, nice modern bathroom. Well-stocked with refreshments (tea, coffee, beer, etc.,). The breakfast: fresh fruit every day. Great local breads. Great eggs,... We stayed here for two nights and it would be a wonderful place to base youself for a longer stay. Our room was on the lower floor it was large well furnished, it also had a separate large well equipped kitchen with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer plus washing machine and dryer. Finally it had a lovely spacious private terrace where... More

Such a gem of a place. Like a good wine, it's balanced, full bodied, and lively. My husband and I booked this for the last nights of our honeymoon and couldn't have had a lovelier time! The breakfast is beyond all normal presentation (the table is so well set there ought to be a picture painted of it, which would... More

We stayed in Te Puna Wai lodge for 6 nights in January. Richard and James are the epitome of charm. They are knowledgable, interesting and such wonderful hosts. The apartment is beautiful with a full kitchen and everything you could possibly need. Breakfast was delicious especially the scramblette. Richard bought in scented roses from his beautiful garden every morning which... More

We stayed five nights. The B&B is in a lovely setting overlooking the bay. The location was ideal for restaurants; driving to and hiking in Abel Tasman; day trips to Queen Charlotte Drive, Picton and the lake area; and touring all the artists' studios in the area. Richard and James were welcoming and very helpful hosts -- always ready to... More
