My wife and I recently visited New Zealand and stayed in various Bed and Breakfasts on the South Island and this was our favorite. The friendliness of the hosts, the amazing fresh fruit included in the breakfast, the conveniently close location to downtown Nelson, the excellent condition of the rooms...everything was exactly as we were hoping. Highly recommended! More

This was a very warm and friendly place to stay in Nelson. To echo all the other reviews, the Canadian/New Zealand couple Janet and Tim are the friendliest hosts and take particular pride in Janet's delicious breakfasts which are indeed impressive and delicious. They were very helpful during our stay with good recommendations for the local sights and restaurants, including... More

Janet and Tim are great hosts and cook a fantastic breakfast. If it wasn't for them we would'nt have gone to the World of Wearable Arts which is one of the funkiest museums I have ever visited. The Baywick Inn is in a great central location and has comfy beds and great books to read. Highly recommended. More

Even though we turned up earlier than expected we were gladly welcomed by our hosts. The gardens and the creek are beautiful. My room was comfortable and spacious and the bathtub was wonderful after all the travelling we had done. I would stay here again very happily. More

Thank you for your review and kind words. Glad you enjoyed the 'century' old tub in this room (Parkdale) which also has a modern stand along shower. It is always a treat to have a soak after a long drive or tramp. Hopefully we will see you again. More

This was the second time we have stayed with Janet and Tim. The reason we went back was because we enjoyed it so much the first time! We were not disappointed. We stayed in the Victorian cottage and cannot be faulted, like home away from home. The breakfasts were extra special, not the usual bacon, egg and sausages. More

Thank you for returning to the Baywick Inn. We are very pleased that you liked the new 'Victorian Cottage', Tim really worked hard at designing it to match the original house, but with all the modern and green features. I am also very glad that you enjoyed the breakfasts, thanks again for your kind words. More

We had a wonderful stay at Baywick Inn, Nelson. This historic home is in a great location, a very easy 10 minute walk to central Nelson. Just opposite is a 30 minute picturesque walk up the hill to the geographical centre of NZ. I would suggest this is a "must do" if you like some moderate exercise and some good... More

I am a little slow at getting round to writing this review but here it is finally. We were two couples doing a motorcycling trip of the South Island and stayed two nights at this lovely B&B. I researched all our overnight stays very thoroughly and picked the Baywick for Nelson. It was one of our favourite stops on the... More

My husband and I stayed at the Baywick Inn in March, for 3 nights, as part of a driving tour of the South Island. We fell in love with Nelson and are determined to come back in the future. It is a delightful city with gorgeous old houses and lovely scenery. Unfortunately we did not make a trip to the... More

This is a gorgeous old house on the outskirts of Nelson. Our room was lovely and had everything we needed. It even had a small sun room/balcony, which we didn't really get chance to make full use of. Parking is available on the driveway or on the road outside. Breakfast was served downstairs with the other guests (of which there... More
