If you want a clean, homely, quiet and friendly hostel for the night near the airport- this is the one for you :) It is a 5 minute car journey away from the airport and the owner offers a very cheap taxi to get you there. My friend and I stayed here before our long flight to Heathrow, UK. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. We were allowed to leave our suticases there all day while we explored Auckland and we knew our belongings would be looked after. This was a lovely relaxing place to crash out after a long flight. Basic accommodation but clean and comfortable. Big comfy lounge in which to swap notes with other travellers. Stayed 1 night at the Skyway on our last night in Auckland. We arrived late but owner was very accommodating, he even offered to drive us to get something to eat. Very clean room and bathroom at a bargain price. The airport shuttle was a great feature, even though it cost extra. more
