Stayed here with my partner. Rooms are huge compared to most city hotels. We stayed in room 9 I think. An older style but spotlessly clean. Good shower/bathroom. Good lighting in room. Excellent blockout for sleeping in. Continental breakfast supplied in basket which was a nice idea, so prepared it when needed. Micro, kettle, toaster, etc. would recommend to others.... More

We stayed for 2 nights and found this motel was excellent value, quiet, comfortable, friendly owners and clean. It is also centrally located! You can't look past this place. High recommendation from us.

We were travelling through from Melbourne on our return home in SA on a family driving holiday and chose Portland for the ANZAC Day Dawn Service. Chose this motel for the value for money and the location (close to a choice of eating places and close to the Dawn Service. A good choice, as it was close to all we... More

I have stayed here previously and again chose it because of the walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Portland. Got the last room and the owner kindly gave me a reduced rate on the family room. It is very clean, comfortable and quiet and I had a good nights sleep. Appreciated the free wifi too. Would recommend and... More

We spent one night in this motel and were quite pleased with the owner's pleasant welcome plus the quality of the motel for the money spent. The owner also recommended a nearby restaurant, Fergies a Cafe ended up serving one of the best meals we have had during our trip in AUS.

I have family scattered in and around Portland so we visit a few times a year. We've stayed at the Melaleuca a number of times as it's so clean, quiet, and convenient. This was the first time staying with our two young children and it was so easy. The family room had a double bed and two singles. With an... More

We chose Portland for its location in relation to our itinerary and for the prospect of seeing kangaroos and koalas around the motel. Unfortunately the wildlife didn't oblige, although the owner went out to check whether the local koala was in residence. We were warmly welcomed and given fresh milk and useful information on places to eat around the town.... More

Stayed here for 2 nights and it was a nice clean well appointed motel room. The managers who have only recently acquired this business have done a good job with it so far and I would expect it would be an ongoing thing. The only downside to it was the laundry, although free the washing machine could definitely be replaced... More

My partner and I stayed here for the weekend. Impressed by the rooms, especially for the price. The staff could not have done a better job; helpful phone advice, warm welcome including proper milk, free WiFi and a self made brochure of what to eat and see in Portland (very handy being our first time)! Will be staying here again... More
