Gorgeous grounds with amazing staff who do anything and everything they can to help. The bistro is really cheap with really tasty good quality food. Animals everywhere! So many ducks, different breeds of ducks too, peacocks, guinea fowl, chickens! Lovely pool area and huge tennis and basketball courts. Not like a hostel at all, more like a resort! It is... More

The colonial village is absolutely beautiful! We were totally shocked (in a good way!) when we got there, the place is huge, gorgeous pool, beautiful grounds, very reasonably priced bar and food and lots of animals everywhere! There are also no bunks in this hostel, which we loved! It makes the rooms feel much more spacious and as a traveller... More

Stayed here for 1 night after returning from Fraser Island. Hostel was clean and quiet. Free wifi in the bar area which was good. Good reasonably priced and you could also pay a little extra for breakfast. Rooms were basic but comfortable. Would stay again if I was in the area!

We stayed here for one night after touring fraser island. The room was basic but really clean..had a great night sleep as the bed was comfortable and the hostel itself is quiet. The food in the bar was tasty and reasonably priced. This hostel is by far one of the cleanest we have stayed in on the east coast.

I stayed for a weekend with my partner and our 4month old in a self contained cabin and it was clean and modern. The staff were good and friendly. The atmosphere was great with all the different travellers around; the peacocks were the cherries on top. :-)

Free wifi in the reception and restaurant. Bathroom facilites looked quite old but were clean and worked. Really cheap and good food in the restaurant. Outside there's a lake with ducks and other birds, really beautiful. Our double room was quite small and there was not much space for the luggage but it was clean. There's a free shuttle service... I've stayed four nights in a double bedroom with en suite. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The room is lovely, complete with a lounge, bathroom, TV and a deck. There are large garden areas, plus a pool and spa outside the bar.Staff have been very helpful. Meals are available at very reasonable prices, and they are yummy! If you are... More

We stayed here for three nights in August 2014, the first night in a double room with shared bath, the other two we upgraded to a double room with ensuite bathroom. The room with shared bath is extremely tiny, there's literally only one bed in the room and not much space for anything else. Since there is no heating it... More

I stayed here for one night in April and checked in really late after a Fraser Island trip but staff had left good instructions and it was fine. The room was nice, spacious and clean and had lockable storage which is a bonus. Nice patio doors to the garden area too. The grounds are lovely and well kept and I... More

We stayed in a double en-suite room. It was clean and tidy and very roomy. We were next to one of the kitchens and TV but heard no noise, from either which was a real plus. In fact it is a quiet location not far from the boats to Fraser Island and the whale watching. The only major drawback is... More
