The Blue Seas Motel looks very pleasant from the outside with recently painted units and neatly kept gardens and grass areas. However, the interior of our unit (2 bedroom) was less than expected for the price. We stayed just the 1 night but found the price NZ$115-studio OK and the relieving manager most obliging. The room (No 2) is a good size with king bed. The newly renovated bathroom has a good shower, lighting, air flow, mirror and heating. The kitchen has the essentials and adequate equipment except for a microwave. Stayed for two nights in a clean, roomy, reasonably priced studio unit. Nice views outside - swimming beach across the road. Situated at the quiet end of the beach. It was a pleasure to stay here. One of the best motels we stayed in on our tour of the South Island. more

The Blue Seas motel in Kaikoura was well located at the quiet end of town with stunning views across the bay and towards the mountains.
