I really like staying at this Motel – the rooms are large, modern and very clean and tidy. The bathroom is excellent and the spa bath is a bonus. I also like that each unit has air conditioning unit with a quiet setting – this has the benefit of not waking you up in the middle of the night as... More

Such a clean, well equipped motel, 4 minutes walk to centre of town with lots of great restaurants (pity most were closed at 8.15pm on Friday night), on main road but no noise at all. Beautiful bed, great spa in bathroom, free wifi, and a very welcoming and positive host.

Had a very relaxing and pleasant night. Just a few minutes walk to the main centre. Lovely clean room with everything you need. Although there was a hickup with our booking all was remedied without a fuss.

We stayed one night in a deluxe one-bedroom upstairs unit, which was clean and very comfortable. We didn't use it - but we did appreciate the spotlessly clean and neatly-organised kitchen. Nice touches included a balcony with mountain and sea view, heated towel rail and detachable shower head in the bathroom, full-size oven, and unlimited free (but slow) wi-fi. Easy... More

Sue and Nevin were extremely hospitable even offered to drop us anywhere. Our room was spacious, sunny and had everything we needed even a lovely view. Short walk to town. Was perfect. Totally recommend it. Was winter when we were there, and we got a great view of the alps with a touch of snow on the top, what more... More

Stayed just a couple of nights in March 2014 - on our way back to NI after touring much of the SI. Planned a whale watch and some fishing. GML on main road - fairly busy traffic wise but suspect double glazed units allows sleep for most. Reception ok, but not what I'd call warm and welcoming. Rooms all had... More

We booked this Lodge for 2 nights as we had planned to go whale watching and to swim with the dolphins. Our apartment was on the first floor and very spacy. It had a well-equipped kitchen, a large bathroom and a very comfortable double bed as well as a separate bedroom with 2 single beds. There was also a small... More

I stayed there with the family as part of a post Easter trip around the top of the South Island. We arrived not long after some pretty atrocious weather, but the motel appeared to have come through OK. The ground floor unit we had was very good. Clean, spacious and sufficiently warm for us. The last of the late summer... More

Spotted this motel as we were driving into Kaikoura and decided to see if they had a room for one night so that we could take a whale watching trip the next morning. We were greeted like old friends and shown to a spotless unit on the first floor overlooking the main trunk road which at the time was very... More
