Chris picked us up from the station and took us on a short drive around Kaikoura which was helpful as we didn't have a car; we had a room in a original weatherboard house; it is on the main room but if you go out of the back and over the field you are onto the beach which is totally... more

When I found the Villa on the website I told my other half that was where we were staying as they had a cat!!! Fatty Cat helped to make up for not seeing Whales with knee-knees, purrs and big cuddles!!! Chris, Suzy and their two children were absolutely fantastic and could not do enough for us. The room was a... more

We stayed at Driftwood Villa for two nights in March. If you're looking for privacy, or more of a "hotel-like" stay, one of the nice things about the Driftwood setup is that the guest quarters are in a separate building from your hosts. However, Suzy and Chris are available right next door. The guest area consists of the guest rooms,... more

We had never stayed in a B&B before, but we decided on Driftwood Villa after reading comments in Trip Advisor. I was so amazed when we got there. Chris and Suzy have a lovely home, and we were greeted by Chris who made us feel welcome right from the word "hi." We stayed in the Pebbles room, which has the... more

Our family stayed two nights in Kaikoura, in this lovely B&B. The rooms were nice and clean, the common area was lovely with some great games and puzzles for kids, and above all we loved the way the owners, Chris and Suzy welcomed us and made us enjoy our stay in Kaikoura. more

We booked this Bed & Breakfast for 2 nights through a web site at a special low season price of NZ$115.00 per night. It is located on the outskirts of Kiakoura but within easy distance of the town centre. The bedroom was a little cramped but clean with a good sized bathroom and the welcome from Suzy and Chris very... more

We had a great stay, although it would be very hard to have a bad stay in Kaikoura. We were out and about a lot, so the villa was excellent at the end of the day. Double electric blankets much needed after a day fishing - the outside spa under the stars and at the foot of the snow capped... more

A great plus is the use of the large lounge and guest kitchen. The hosts were charming, made us feel very comfortable and gave good advice on the local attractions such as the seal colony. We loved lazing in the spa in the garden - lovely to watch the night sky and try to work out the southern hemisphere constellations.... more

Driftwood is a little out of town (20+ mins walk) but the friendliness of the hosts make up for that. Bed and bathroom facilities are what you would expect in the price bracket but access to communal living area with games, tv, (slow) computer access, kitchen and a hot tub take the experience up a notch. Choice of breakfast is... more

We stayed here as two couples and one baby. The room at the front with garden attached - the most expensive room was the nicest one. The breakfast is superb (includes a cooked one), coffee delicious (and my mother was sampling the coffee all the way around new zealand) and the hosts bake their own bread, have a kitchen and... more
