My husband and I, as well as another couple travelling with us, stayed for 2 nights at Nikau Lodge in November, 2014. It is a lovely bed and breakfast and the rooms were very accommodating. The views from the guests rooms are spectacular and our hosts, Jane and Quentin, couldn't have been more helpful. Quentin went out of his way... More

We started our 3 week journey in NZ with just a one night stay at Nikau Lodge. If we had time to stay and explore, Nikau house would be the perfect base. The hosts were so welcoming and offered many great local tips of things to see and places to eat...and Kaikoura is just a short walk away all while... More

This is an older style building which ticks all the boxes. The rooms are nice and comfortable and in addition to their own rooms the guests have access to a really cosy lounge area with a wood burning stove (which was lit when we arrived on a chilly December afternoon). Although it’s close to the main road this is more... More

We paid 540 NZD for two nights nothing wrong with The hosts and our room but it should not cost that much, sorry. It was many vacancies in the area so if we would have known...The breakfast was very good and we had wine, beer and a out door Sauna was nice. The regret is to book and not check... More

We are sorry you found Nikau Lodge expensive. We believe we do offer value as our room rates include everything; a full gourmet breakfast chosen from our menu, wine and beer, very good WIFI, outdoor spa and use of our laundry. We even bring your washing in if it starts to rain. It is true that it can be possible... More

We ve had a lovely time in Kaikoura and our hosts were super lovely. Breakfast is included and delicious and you can even order it to be brought to the room. They only thing we d recommend is to book one of the rooms upstairs in the house that has the view. It's really worth it (we swopped rooms because... More

Nikau Lodge was such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay in Kaikoura. It's located in the heart of town but away from the main street which was quite. It's also close to some great restaurants so that we could walk there and not drive. The hosts Jane and Quentin are the nicest hosts you could ever meet. They went... More

The Dolphin room has great views of the mountains and the beach! Quentin and Jane were excellent hosts with a wealth of knowledge on what to see in Kaikoura. Breakfast was delicious and we also enjoyed late afternoon drinks in their garden.
