Fantastic staff, food and accommodation. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and were well looked after by the staff that made us completely at home. The evening dinner was divine and we were offered complimentary glasses if port. The Tree Houses are absolutely magic offering fine views of the Kaikoura ranges . We received an email from Natalie shortly... More

The entire experience was magical. We were on our honeymoon; this was the second stop on a six stop tour of the north and south islands. The views from our tree house were awesome. From the front window were beautiful green fields with rabbits playing framed by magnificent mountains. From our back window, you saw sheep grazing in the lodge's... More

One of the most wonderful places I have stayed in. Very special location. Beautiful accommodation in the tree houses and exquisite service and hospitality. This is a real treat and would be an ideal destination for a romantic retreat or an indulgent few days.

As I flew into Blenheim from Auckland over the small islands starting the South Island of New Zealand, the lush green countryside began to unfold amongst the crystal clear water separating the finger like peninsulas jutting out. Budget had my car ready and off I drove for the 70 mile journey to Kaikoura. Amazingly how this coastline is almost untouched... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights, however I wish it was longer! The food is amazing, the staff very friendly and helpful and the treehouse is spectacular. No complaints, only compliments. The complimentary biscuits and mini bar are just the first of many small touches which make this trip amazing. I didn't want to leave the room... More

After driving more than 2 hours in a terrible storm from Christchurch, the Hapuku Lodge was a welcome sight. We were welcomed with open arms and showed to our huge room. The room was nicely appointed with snacks and wine. The bathroom was beautiful. We wished we would have been able to see the mountains behind the lodge but they... More

This was a 2-day splurge, on our 25-year anniversary, 3-week tour of New Zealand and it was everything we hoped for. Private, intimate, peaceful and luxurious. You have to know that everything about this resort is sublime. We kept noticing new details each day and loved all the custom woodwork. There is something special about knowing you are nestled high... More

Absolutely fantastic!!! Scores 10 out of 5 at least in our opinion! We were welcomed on arrival, shown around, and shown to our tree house. Wow - what an experience! Lovely room, with views of the mountains and the olive grove, with the sea in the distance. Classical music playing when we opened the door. Complimentary bottle of wine in... More

Because a mistake of the resort booking system, we could not sleep in a tree top the 1st night (they offered the diner to our group of 6 to forgive...) bur then we went up in the tree top rooms. Very original, rustic but beautiful and large room and bath room. We took 2 diners there and the food was... More

This is the second stop on our family vacation to the South Island and what a choice indeed. We are staying in a two sorry luxury tree-house which the brochures definitely undersold. It is Eco designed and all the luxurious touches are under-stated but add to the overall experience. Even the thought that has been our into the comfort of... More
