Overview: We stayed at the Anchor Inn for one night. Upon arrival, the staff was extremely friendly and offered a number of suggestions for activities and dining in the area. We stayed in one of the non-beach-facing rooms. We were impressed with the size of the room, quite large. It also had kitchen facilities including a range, microwave and refrigerator.... more

This “best motel in NZ” for 4 years straight, rated #1 on TA lived up to its reputation. It was perfectly located out of the bustle of the downtown, with clean tidy room with kitchenette looking right across to the ocean. We had a terrific walk along the top of the cliffs for about an hour, and could see a... more

The Anchor Inn is situated right on the sea front about 30 minutes walk from the centre of Kaikoura. The room was enormous and well equipped (kitchen, tv, dvd, wireless interenet), and would have been spacious for a family of 4. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing useful information about places to eat, attractions and the whale watching tours.... more

Property was pleasant, and on the sea front. The room was large with kitchen area and jacuzzi bath. Perfectly clean and pleasant and helpful staff. However, this place is expensive and I dont feel it was worth the money. It might be "new zealand's best motel" from a few years back, but it is expensive on the back of that,... more

Stayed at the Anchor Inn Motel mid November with my Husband. Our room was excellent with Ocean views. It was well appointed and large with well-equipped kitchen and large bathroom. There were bathrobes and a spa bath to enjoy. Lovely location and excellent facilities. The Motel has a laundry which you can utilise for free. The Motel also has movie... more

We stayed at the Anchor Inn for one night and we could have stayed forever! The room was lovely and our sliding glass door took us directly to the beach with the most amazing view of the snow capped mountains and bay. The owners are vey helpful and so kind! We will be going back! more

We only stayed for a night here before we went on our whale watch cruise. We had a spacious 2 bedroom apartment which we found spotlessly clean. We were right on the water front with lovely views, no-one could see in and we couldn't hear the traffic. There's A/C and heaters! It had everything we could possibly want although I... more

We had a two night stay here and were delighted. The motel is right on the ocean and was among the cleanest and best presented accomodation that we stayed at during our stay in New Zealand. It is located a fair way away from the shopping district of Kiakoura and while we walked into town on the first night I... more

I stayed at the Anchor Inn 3 years ago, but this time we went for one of their top units, a two story, two bedroom one that was quite expensive ($190) but was totally worth it. We had 2 nights here and I wish we'd had more. The unit was immaculate and very luxurious. Had the best night's sleep there.... more
