Definitely the best stay of our 17 days in South Island. - The hosts are exceptionally kind and warm. She really made us feel at home, giving us advice on where to dine and visit. She even offered me a towel for our dolphine swim the following day. And, kindly lent me a sewing kit to mend my son's torn... More

This is a good quality motel facing the sea with very friendly & helpful managers & spacious, comfortable rooms. The location is a bit of a trek from the town if on foot but its worth it for the views. We were recommended some restaurants in easy walking distance which were superb. We would definitely stay here again.

Difficult to make a choice in this hotel-rich small touristic station. We chose the Anchor Inn somewhat randomly but it turned out to be a rather good place. Good welcome from a very helpful manager,. The location is a bit off center along the coast but this is not really a problem given the size of the village. The rooms... More

We stayed at this motel for 1 night following a drive from Picton, before heading to Hanmer Springs. Arriving at the motel we could not help but admire the view from our room, the snow capped mountains meeting the ocean. The room was spacious, the bed big and comfy. There was a guest laundry available. The managers were extremely welcoming... More

Our second stay at the Anchor Inn and it was everything we remember. Almost everything about the place is just what you need to enjoy the unique environment of the place where the mountains meet the sea. The units have all you need...great bed, good bathroom and shower, cooking and storage. The only issue we had was the wifi, which... More

We stayed two nights here - a couple with 10 yr old. The unit was clean, comfortable, with all the necessities. The beds were very comfortable - which is hard to find away from home. It is handy to local eateries and sights. The hosts were friendly and very helpful. Our daughter loved being across the road from the beach... More

It was a good stay for two nights. We stayed in room no 4 which had sea view . Room was big , and quite neat and tidy and it was very well ventilated. Bed was quite comfortable and we had a good sleep. It's a no fuss accommodation with all the basic amenities provided . Was a bit disappointed... More

The hotel was recommended to me by the innkeeper of a hotel I stayed at the night before. It proved to be a wonderful recommendation. The room was bright and airy and looked out over the ocean and coastline. The room was comfortable, provided what one would expect of a motel, and the innkeepers were friendly and helpful. If in... We were a family of three and had a two bedroom unit, travelling with adult daughter. We were welcomed by extremely friendly staff, and the unit was immaculate, we would go as far as to say the cleanest we have come across in all our travels, with breathtaking views to enjoy. Great location, kitchen well stocked with all the necessary... More
