5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I looked all over the internet for somewhere else to stay in Kaikoura that had a sea view, two bedrooms, handy location and good quality fittings and found...nothing! So we stayed here again! And I was pleased that we did so. The new owners (since three years ago) are very nice indeed and the units were clean, comfortable and well... More

We have just left this place and had a really enjoyable time. The owners were completely devoted to ensuring we enjoyed our stay and were kindness itself. The rooms were well-equipped, roomy and spotlessly clean. It must take a lot of hard work to keep a place like this running as well as it does and we were extremely grateful... More

A great motel - the rooms view and mini patio on a beautiful day was a delight and so relaxing after a v long drive. The room was very well appointed and quiet. Pauline's guidance to the Roadside BBQ Seafood was great so add my recommendation too..

Keith and Pauline are the best! The Anchor Inn has come to be our benchmark against which other accommodation is compared. Few if any come close ...... There is nothing to complain about and insufficient space for superlatives but just a few comments. We wanted peace and quiet so chose this part of Kaikoura. You need car as it is... More

We stayed her on Christmas Day, and the hosts were amazing. They were concerned about helping us find dinner, settle in, and make sure we were comfortable. The hotel isn't 5-star by any means, but it seemed like the best one we saw in Kaikoura, and in the morning, we found a great little shopping street with a number of... More

Stayed for one night in two bedroom unit with family. The views from our unit were stunning, the weather was also perfect which helps as well. Unit was spotless clean, had everything we needed but did seem a bit noisy at night, but perhaps coming from the quite countryside the ears were a bit sensitive to the noise of the... More

We couldn't praise more highly the hosts of these motels. We stayed one night at Anchor Inn recently with two of our elderly friends from Australia and had booked a two bedroom unit without studying the website closely. It turned out to be one of the two storeyed units which were most unsuitable for our elderly friends. It was not... More

We stayed here over New years eve in a 1 bedroom deluxe apartment. The room was very large and well appointed with lounge area and a kitchette with hob, the bed was very large and extremely comfortable. When we arrived and throughout the staff were extremely friendly and helpfull. The motel offers free wifi, laundrette and car washing facilities. The... More

A fantastic little motel with excellent views of the sea. We stayed in a 2br room with a sea view. The couple who ran it were very hospitable and knowledgeable. The lady owner provided us with 2 restaurant recommendations which were spot on. The bathroom was a little small, but there were some excellent little touches that made us feel... More

Wish we could have stayed longer. What a lovely setting and friendly owners this place has. It was a perfect spot for us to spend Christmas day. The owners offered to find us a spot for Christmas dinner but instead we chose to wander into town and found a pizza spot that was open. It's a great motel a little... More
