If you are looking for fantastic views this is the motel,it is just across the road from the beach and the stunning Mountains that surround Kaikoura with the snow in the winter on them the view is breathtaking. The motel is very clean and has everything you need and the owners go out of their way to make you feel... More

We were welcomed with a lovely greeting and were able to check in early which was great as my 6 yr old was sick. The 2 bedroom family unit was immaculate. The motel was right across the road from the beach and playground and a was a very short drive from the look out. We can't wait to come back... More

Looked to stay overnight in Kaikoura and wanted a sea view but our budget only got a back room in the "nice" motels until we found Anchor Inn. For a very reasonable price we got a sea view room. Sat outside with a fantastic view of the sea and mountains and was lulled to sleep with the sound of the... More

The Anchor Inn is a nice, clean motel with views of the ocean. There was some confusion as to the type of the room we wanted but was soon sorted out. We were asked which type of milk we wanted on arrival, kind of a unique question to start with! They have great internet at no charge which is a... More

We (3 adults) stayed at the Anchor Inn for one night in May and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We had a spacious 1BR unit with large comfortable beds and all the mod cons, that was cosy, warm and very quiet. Situated just a short drive (or 20 minute walk if fitness is your thing) from the town centre, the motel... More

Generous sized room. Rolling waves lulled me to sleep. Lovely shower. Bathroom products nothing special. Well appointed kitchenette. Spectacular view of the bay and snow capped mountains. Free wifi, however, only 50MB. Lovely people.

I stayed here as part of a two day business trip to Kaikoura this week and it proved a great base. The unit was very large and really well equipped. The great little kitchenette would be idea if you wanted to eat in, the 50-plus Sky TV channels were a natural boon to a business traveller and the huge (very... More

My family of 7 stayed in the 2-Bedroom apartment with fantastic ocean views and the standard studio (garden view) on 6 March 2014. The hosts were very friendly and approachable, making sure that we settled down well. The lady owner helped us call up the Lavender farm to check their opening times so that we do not make a wasted... More

Stayed 2 nights at the Anchor Inn Motel. Great location with views that would be hard to beat any where in the world. Room & all facilities spotlessly clean & maintained to a very high standard. Excellent guest laundry & the opportunity to dry clothes in the sun. Room spacious, very comfortable & everything provided we needed. Very helpful owners... More

Perfectly laid out for family requirements. We loved this motel, and next time we go to Kaikoura we will definitely be staying here and longer. The hosts were super friendly and suggested as well as reserved a brilliant place for dinner for us. We were travelling will our 6 month and 3 year old children, so we stayed in the... More
