Thank you Joy and Ross for your great hospitality. The lodge is surrounded by fantastic scenery. The facilities are outstanding and ambience around the log fire was sensational, we didn't want to leave. You really must stay to experience this wonderful venue.

5 years ago we met Ross & Joy after serendipitously spending New Years Eve with their two sons & their friends in Rai Valley. When we arrived at their hometown at that time of Christchurch they welcomed us into their homes like family. Now we returned to NZ having not spoken to them since, and heard they were running this... More

Thanks Joy and Ross for a wonderful, relaxing stay. We were the only guests so had the lodge to ourselves, which was very indulgent. We really enjoyed watching the mist roll in as the open fire blazed with a glass of red wine on Valentines Day. We also loved waking up to see the sun rise over the Kaikoura ranges,... More

We spent christmas eve on waikene Lodge and it was excellent. Roos and Joy made the stay awesome ;-) Beside the nice scenary and all the new facilities we enjoyed the stay. Our girls liked the stay as well, expecially the pet sheep and horseback riding. We spent one night at the lodge and one night in the "lonesome hut",... More

We were the only guests so we had the lodge to ourselves which was lovely. The rooms are well kitted... More

Visiting Waikene lodge to seek a relaxing space to recharge myself. The view is brilliant. Great accessibility make it easier for us. There are lots to explore in the working farm itself. It's great hide-away from rat race. Please come and see Joy. :)

Great camping place, fully equiped, welcoming, soo quiet and peacefull! The Kaikouri camping sites near the sea were much too close to the road, too noisy. We were so happy we took the 20 km road and found this place where the sunset set the mountains on fire...
