This motel is close to all the wonders people love about the area - whales, seals, dolphins, walking and your pets are welcome too. Free parking and there is under-cover parking as well. Supermarket nearby and I have been advised that bit by bit the owner will be doing a make-over. I go on holiday to get to know the... More

Time for the Bull Dozer Folks. Dirty, Old and uncomfortable. I'm not sure what I can say about this place. Kaikoura is a lovely place but this really lets the side down. There are much better motels in Kaikoura at a similar price.

Very, very tired motel. Such a pity. Comfortable bed but interior shocking so sad to see. Motel on the market so no money is being spent on interior. Unfortunately we paid for what we got. Would not stay there again.

Let's do the time warp again. The motel is in dire need of a makeover. Looks like nothing has happened to it since the sixties. Free parking. Handy location near new world supermarket. Would benefit from free wifi.

This place is very run down. Dirty with dog hair on the carpet, old toilet / shower and in general just felt unclean and run down. Would not stay there again. There was a for sale sign at the front and it seemed like the owner had given up.

I found Richard [ the host ] to be charming with his honesty and pleasant mannerism. I appreciated how he warmly welcomed us and our dog, which by the way is a Rottweiler. This place is dog friendly which I believe a lot of people didn't know. I also appreciated how he left us alone for the whole two days... More

was good place is cheap .. kinda like entering the twilight zone. tis a roof over the head and is what it says to be. dont expect too much if ur rich and snooty. was pleased to see a pleasant older man and a younger chirpy woman cutting back hedges and painting the walls. very friendly. would recommend.

The room is old and needs some maintenance. No insect screens meant the room had many flies inside when we arrived. Outside light didn't work. Heating was only a small fan heater, which was inadequate for a night when snow fell on the outside hills! Also, the internet advertised wasn't working. However, the bed was clean and comfy and the... More

We booked online and purely on price. It was our last stop before heading to the ferry at Picton. It was like stepping back in time, as the room seemed untouched since the 60's, but it was what I expected, A hotel room in Kaikoura for the price I wanted to pay. It had everything an expensive hotel had just... More

Another long day on the road, meant that we would be arriving in Kaikoura late at night. We called ahead to inform the reception. Richard the owner was extremely pleasant, telling us not to worry about what time we arrived and was more concerned about us arriving safely. He said that he would turn the lights on in the unit...
