YHA Kaikoura has an amazing view in the mornings right on the front doorstep, the snow covered peaks of mountains as a backdrop to a large lake. We stayed here for one night during our 2008 tour of New Zealand and really enjoyed ourselves. The hostel is set right on the beach front about 1 mile or so from the main town area. If you arrive by bus then it's a bit of a walk with your bags. It is also about 1 mile from the seal... more
