Although the accomodation is a couple of kilometres out of town, that's no real problem - Kaikoura hardy has a traffic or parking problem. We stayed for one night at The Fairways during the winter season. The apartment was of an exceptional standard, and was well furnished, with a very cosy flame effect fire. Overall a good stay, but The Fairways is a series of furnished, sometimes third-party owned, serviced apartments, and not a hotel-type arrangement, which some guests may find off-putting. more

The complex is brand new and part of what looks like a new sub-division a few miles out of Kaikoura. Golf course on site, pond, short walk to beach although over main road.
