We spent 2 nights at the Rimu Lodge while breaking up our trip after several days of driving the South Island. What a perfect location to kick up your feet, sit on the large deck and enjoy the amazing views! Rooms were spacious and wonderful. Clean, comfortable and well appointed. Local artists featured in the lodge (be sure you check... More

This lodge provided a comfortable stay, with nice food, and clean rugs to allow for floor stretches. We enjoyed conversing with the other guests. The owner, Helen, is pleasant, but business oriented. It is not located in town, but the short drive out affords a nice riverview.

This B&B bats so far over its star rating they should invent a higher rating. Paula and I had the best time here combining her birthday with the festival. Helen and Peter were super hosts, everything from room prep, breakfast and local knowlege excellent. Thank you for letting us stay and combining Paulas birthday with you anniversary. I would highly... More

Very modern four-bed B&B with huge terrace giving great views over valley and distant hills. Enormous guest 'extension' incorporating cathedral atrium, comfortable chairs and log fire. Comfortable, roomy bedroom with Freeview TV and free WiFi. Great breakfast choices. Friendly reception from Helen and Peter, who even shared a glass of wine with us in the evening. Just 10 mins out... More

Helen and Peter provide a welcoming place in Hokitika, with delicious breakfasts, up-to-date accommodations, and a spectacular deck. Helen offers good touring advice. The location is out of the main town, in a residential neighborhood.

The rooms are new and hotel quality, facing a wide deck with splendid hilly views. Helen provides a sumptuous breakfast and good touring advice. A good option after a TransAlpine train from Christchurch to Greymouth. This place offers rural ambiance but upscale appearance.

Lovely lodge with a superb view. Helen was a great host and took the time to give us some great tips. Well appointed room with everything you would need and a great guest lounge. Not cheap but it's worth the price. Best place to eat locally is Stumpers, perfect meal.

Rimu lodge is a lovely place to stay, albeit not in the town itself. The views over the valley were fantastic. We arrived to yummy chocolates on the bed and the room was clean with a lovely ensuite. Breakfast was pleasant with plunger coffee. We did get a sense that the B&B was run more as a business, than a... More

This is a very comfortable B&B. Views from the lodge are fantastic. It is definitely worth a visit if one is going to Franz Josef. Breakfast could have been better - having stayed at many other B&Bs in New Zealand we expected a little more!

Helen and Peter were the perfect hosts. The lodge is so comfortable. We arrived mid afternoon and left early the next morning but we all wished that we could have stayed longer. Our rooms were immaculate with very comfortable beds and great facilities. We had a glass or two of wine with our hosts who then recommended Stumpers in town... More
